trouble with the law

I got in some trouble with the law and am looking for some answers about my problem. I searched around the net for answers and came up with nothing, so I decided I would ask the question here since I visit and read these forums frequently and have no idea where else I could go for help.

Tonight my brother, who is 17, came to pick me up from a party where I had been drinking a little at. When he picked me up he and his friends (which are also 17) had a case of beer with them. After I got in the car we drove down to a local park for a few minutes to wait for someone. In those two minutes a cop car pulled up and a cop drug us out of the car one at a time and gave us all breathlyzers. No one in the car blew anything on the breatlyzer except for me (I blew a .13). But anyways we had a case of beer in the car and they confiscated that. But before leaving they gave me ticket charging me with Deliquency of a Minor, and underage consumption.

My question is what could possibly happen with these charges and what punishments I have. Since I didnt have anything to do with getting the beer for them I dont know how I should plea or what I should do. I dont feel like I should be charged with that since I actually did nothing to contribute to a minor. As for the other charge of underage consumption I will probably just accept that and take it since I had been drinking and am underage. But is there anyway I could get the deliquency of a minor dropped or what. I really dont know what I should do here, I havent been in this situation before, anything anyone can contribute to help my situation would be much appreciated.

It all depends on what state (assuming you're in the US) you are in as to how they deal with it. As for what you should do, and I really hate to say this but...get a lawyer. Probably get one of both of the charges dropped or reduced.

If poor go see legal-aid (phone book)
Your a minor...
Won't be on adult record...
I'd just pay the fine and go on with life..

Contributing to the Deliquency of a Minor is a heafty fine... lucky for your bother he didnt get charges a citationg for transporting malt or liqour beverages... that happened to me, but i got the DUI dropped...bonsaiguy's right get a lawyer... it's worth the money

In england nothing happens ... I have been caught so many times with vodca with me mates they just take it off me and twice they have told me parents and took me home nd threatend to arrest me coz i was swearing at them

But all they do is take it off you and like after the 3rd time underage drinking on the street they put you in a cell for the night

But law is different every where initso i don't know :s

first off man, how did the cop just yank you out of the car and make you blow. In my state, you dont have to blow. that might have been your first mistake if he asked you to blow. then again, you might not have had a choice. I just always thought that you could turn it down if you wanted and request a lawyer.

But yah, get a lawyer anways. They are expensive as haleeeeee, but in the end, it's worth it.
