400 HPS and 400W MH Good for Flowering?
I have a 400W HPS and i just got a 400W MH today. Im wondering if i used both of these lights for my sea of green. I have 8 clones that i am about to flower. They are like about 1.5-2 feet.
Any thoughts? should i just get a 400W HPS Bulb? or is this a good way to go

Two ballasts? You can get conversion bulbs for the ballasts. You can run a conversion HPS in a MH ballast, and vice versa. I would suggest using HPS for flowering, as the light spectrum mimics the fall sun. It'll be a flowering bonanza!!
400 HPS and 400W MH Good for Flowering?
I run both MH and HPS for flowering. By all means.
The MH, while not the proper spectrum, still serves a purpose by bombarding your plants with UV-B rays. (HPS emits none).
A lot has been learned by studying the potency of plants grown at higher elevations where the UV rays are strongest.
It is theorized the Plants produce more resin to absorb and protect the flowers from this harmful radiation. Ideally, the HPS : MH ratio is 2:1
But keeping them both burning is absolutely the ideal scenario. The HPS still gives the flowers / fruits the red waves they need.

sweet thats good to know harddon. i will try out my lights together. in there current state. well see how they work together and will be happy to share whatever results i have noticed. if worst comes to worst and its not working ill just have to get a HPS conversion bulb, no biggie, my 400 W MH was only 40 bones.
8 small clones are going to be under these 2 lights. hopefully its enough light. :-D
