Temp prob.

Hey guys, I got a temp problem and need to ask you guys a question.

So the temp in my grow room is about 75 deg with 800w HPS.
To reduce 75deg to 40-50 would I install a cool air hood for the HPS and a couple fans?

The reason in doing so is that it has been really tight up here now that cops have been using thermal heating over house's to bust fairly large grow rooms, I want mine to stay about average if not a little bit higher. After all, this is my 9 clone room and I dont want it to be busted.

Damn where U from cause I hope I'm not near their?

5 house's up here got busted with a total of 800 plants a house and cloning begging in the attic. They were caught because of thermal heat and there generaters were loud, you could hear them running at night, I herd them.

I'd go for the sealed hood and the fans. As to the air, you can exhaust it to the inside of your home.... ??? Or no?

Nooooooo...you want it outside. The sealed hoods or cooltubes is a good idea, but you want the hot air outside and if anything, ditch the 800, get 2 400's and have 2 SEPERATED flower rooms as apposed to one (this makes it seem less obvious.) A close buddy of mine used to have a thermal video camera and I read a news report about how the cops catch the people who grow. For one, they are not allowed onto your property which is kinda obvious, but instead, they wonder AROUND your property and try to get any angle they can to see if you have any suspicious activity going on inside your home.

So to prevent this, have your growroom be in a basement or the middle of your house and still have the air be vented outside...and purified...nothing says you grow more than the stench. Goodluck.

BTW. I know all this because I read it on a news report. I have no experience in any of this whatsoever.

^^^ Nice points. Question: Wouldn't hot, exhausting air from the house be "suspicious"? Instead of dispersing the hot air through the house?

Thermal imaging doesnt work like that.

You can have the air to be 30 degrees if you want.

The lights still put out the heat and thats what they look for. Viewed from thermal goggles, having the air cool but the lights HOT only works to make the lights that much more detectable...

duh.

If this is really a concern, your single best bet is to install drywall that contains lead. Its the same drywall used in doctors offices with xray machines.

You would have to build a box with this lead based drywall and that is really all you can do.

Hot air coming from the vents outside could be a dryer, a bathroom fan, anything.

There are specific color temps they look for and white is the telltale trigger color.

NOW, if you have an air conditioner blowing right onto the bulbs, that would reduce the heat signature but not the heat the filament itself is creating.

The signature of HID lighting is pretty hard to miss....lead drywall and concrete / brick is the only way to trap it...that I am aware of.

Lead...engenius...never would a normal person think of this...only superhumans.

Alright guys well I will take the air and circulate it outside of my house, but because of the cold weather wouldnt be steamy? In other words I dont want tons of steam coming out of 1 inperticular spot of my house, only for someone to come up and take a wiff and know exactly what Im doing.

Anyways story ....... I was walking home from a buds house after getting blitzed, and I swear to god I saw threw this guys window and saw nothing but white white white light and plants ..... No joke, should I go see this guy?
