Is it best to use a double boiler to cook your bud butter, or to melt the butter and throw the weed in straight and simmer for 10 mins
simmer, ya dont lose as much thc
but in the end the butter is terrible for your health
not only does it contain fats but also growth hormones for baby cows that us humans dont need
then ya got yer pesticides and anibiotics
A double boiler is actually going to apply more gentle heat than simmering. Butter is going to have a tendency to burn so you'd want to use a double boiler or crock pot--something that is going to apply indirect heat. Simmering is okay for cooking oil as it doesn't burn at such low temperatures.
Give me organic butter any day of the week over "processed easily spreadable butter flavored goo" that comes in the hermetically sealed industrial size tubs. You want to talk chemicals?
Use organic butter! Crock pot no good cause it's on a thermostat and turns on and off, also an electric stove. Best to bouble boil over constant low gas flame. I add water, simmer for 24 hours over double boiler, put in refrig to seperate water and butter, then take the brick of butter off the water layer.
My question: is the sludgy water left on the bottom high material. I throw it out.
