I have chewed alleged peyote buttons before.. .bitter as hell but yes, trippy. I am, however, looking for a different trip or a way to enhance this trip to an LSD-like level. I enjoy the sort of unreal, otherside sort of trip but I am just wondering if you know of any other chemicals or organic matters that come fairly close to the LSD experience... as I'm dry.
I have heard that even though the hallucinogenic cacti have roughly the same chemical processes going on, the different varieties seem to produce different trips. Does anyone have any information regarding this?

if you know a little bit of organic chemistry you can extract the mescaline from the cacti, which would then be more powerful, or you can just try to buy mescaline from somebody. other lsd-like experiences are morning glory seeds (i've heard, i haven't done them myself yet), but with those you have to be careful how to prepare them or you'll get sick (there's info about it on erowid). i guess some of the 2c research chems are similar to acid as well but i can't say for sure cause i haven't done those either. i'm in a similar position because there's no acid around here either so i'm gonna try morning glories sometime soon. good luck!

Morning Glory are a good alternative but you get killer stomach cramps for the first half hour to an hour, but after that its amazing. Also, san pedro cactus which is legal in the US. Pretty much the same as peyote.

Dude morning glory or hawaiian baby woodrose seeds would be best. with the hawaiian seeds you only need like 10 so the cramps arent to bad. but dude im soooo blazed as i write this

spatte21 is right, morning glories are great but the first hour and a half kinda sucks, but well worth the payoff. A little green can get you past that stage and boost the trip too.
