Return a harvested plant to veg? Comments?
Hey all,
I've been growing from seed (bagseed from someone whose friend grows Sweet Tooth and Strawberry Cough... could I be so lucky?) and am almost finished up with my first grow. There are a couple beautiful standouts in the crop that I would love to revert to veg and turn into mothers; however, I've read that by allowing a plant to complete its flowering cycle and then putting it back in veg can reduce its genetic integrity and potency.
Is this something any of you have done, and with what success?

ps- and yes, I've pestering him for clones too! :p.... *drool*

Get a few other seeds, start a mother or two, then clone the LIVING DAYLIGHTS out of the mother!:)
Don't re-veg.. It's not as good as a good mother!:D

If you enjoyed your first harvest, you will enjoy your revegged second harvest.

out if a whole bunch of seeds I have one plant that isn't male, hermie or reaching for the sky like its sisters. It is low with tight Indica looking flowers on it. I am going to reveg it and make it a clone mother. I can bet out of my bag seeds that this plant will give me more than the other seeds.

I've revegged quite a few times. Just make sure you leave a few immature buds on the bottom of the plant. It has worked out well for me in the past although I no longer do it as the buds are smaller and more difficult to manicure.

Don't do it..everytime you re-veg you lose a generation and eventually you will wear you babies down to the point that they will yield prime shit weed!
Make a momma..take clones..never flower her..and she will get very potent as she gets older and she won't lose the first gen vigor (my moms are now 6 month old and give up 45 or 50 clones every 5 days or so!)

After 1 year clone mothers begin to lose there potentcy so re veg all you want it's your desition and a good one at that.
But I'd only reveg if you need to cut some clones from it.

Lets compare something...
If you have 10 plants..all revegging..
Lets say it takes em 3 weeks to get to the point where you would begin flowering again..
By then I have already started my clones flowering..and they are one week into it...
The revegged plants are smaller..have alot more branches..but the small branches produce less..
So now lets figure another 2 weeks for the re-vegged plants to respond to the time flip to 12/12..
With my clones I am 3 weeks into flower and have already got all my bud sites well established..on thicker stems..
I will finish roughly 3 weeks sooner than if I re-vegged..and have new clones ready to go into the space..
Over a year I will probably harvest at least 2 more crops than a re-vegged garden would..and my plants always have lots of root space (instead of having rootbound bushes that don't produce enough)..
We can debate all we like..but the bottom line is that re-vegging is simply not the best way to go...

it is if most of your seeds suck and you have one plant that is what you want. who cares about time. I wasnt planning on revegging but that plant is so stout that it would be a crime to not keep her alive. some of the plants stretched taller and that isnt what I want. you may have chanced it with one mother plant and you dont know how they will take to the 12/12. you may have thrown away a seed that had better genetics than your current mother in anticipation of your clones not stretching or being hermies.

by flowering many plants that started from seed I can pick the cream of the crop.
