There are no sites. You have to fail, learn, fail, learn. I have a set of 12 right now that are just seeding :D took me about 10 growroom adjustments before I finally got their envoronment right. Buy some seeds from an online botanical shop and fool around with them.
Rasta is right. The best way to learn how to grow your own, MJ, poppies or fruit, is to learn yourself. Trail and error, over and over, with plenty of patience...but it's fun too. Seeing what works and what doesn't.
As long as you have the basics down of growing, anything, then you should be okay.
To get a seed to grow, dirt, water, light, repeat...a flourishing plant needs food, fertlilizer. Dirt, water, light, feed, repeat.
That's all there is to it. I'm not sure about poppies though, that isn't an interest to me, but good luck on what you're findnig!

You can buy Papaver somniferum seeds, which will produce opium.
I'm not sure about a shop but online im pretty sure you can buy white ones....wether they were the correct species of poppy to obtain opium, i do not know.... however i know there are some you can buy which produce opium....but the white ones are best (yeild wise...according to erowid)
But I was actually thinking about growing some aswell....lol....i would love to try some opium. Just once...:)
Search Ebay for Papaver somniferum
opium poppies are completely legal until you slice the pod open, which out oozes the white substance, that after a few hours turns a blackish colour, which is raw opium. Many, many gardeners have opium poppies in their gardens due to the fact that they are pretty flowers and the dry pods are often used in dry flower arrangments.
