lighting upgrade problem HELP!!

morning everyone hopefully you guys have visited my growlog and if u havent then feel free to anyways my current setup contains 2 cfls 42w=120w energy savers with warm light along with a agro-lite br40 for heat and pressure within the growchamber after extensive research its become ever so evident that my lighting arraingment isnt meeting my plants needs so am in transition of getting a whole new mh setup. now i dont know anything about mh or better yet electricity itself and need help from ending up being suckered into buying things i have no need for at homedepot later today so any help in basic Metal Halide Ballast and fixture would be greatly appreciated now i see that a 250w mh bulb seems to only fit in mogul base sockets so what do i need to buy a special socket or ballest or fixture or what the hell am i doing :confused: ?! please help!

The easiest thing to do would be to buy the entire fixture. In the end, it will probably be the most cost effective thing also. Just in case they only have parts, you'll need the lamp of course, a matching ballast, and you can also buy a mogal conversion that screws into a standard socket. Good Luck!! :thumbsup:

BK... if you are only going to use 1 HID light.. you should consider HPS rather than MH..

I believe that HPS is a better overall choice if you are only going to use 1 kind of HID

thanks gk i went with 2 separate fixtures a mh and a hps veg/flowering purposes as you mighta concluded anyways im jus wondering if anyones ordered from insidesun before how long does the transaction usually take?thanks for the respons by the way
