Is it wise to switch to an 18/6 light cycle for a couple days (say a week) before I go into flower with 12/12?
I have been growing my baby for 38 days under 24/0 and plan on switching to 12/12 in about a week (around the 45th day). Can I go right into 12/12 from 24/0 OR would it be a better idea to "ease" her into 12/12 by doing a week (or so) of 18/6?

I don't think it would be necessary to go from 24/0 to 18/6 to 12/12.. It would probably only stress the plant more, it get's stressed enough from 24/0 to 12/12..
Go direct, and just let it rest for a couple of the first days in 12/12!:)

It should be a good idea to "ease" her into 12/12 by doing a week of 18/6 and then a few days of 16/8 . Also give her 24 hours of darkness prior to 12/12 cycle.Quote:

If it were a week or two earlier, then I would say yes, go for it, but (THIS IS ONLY ME) now I wouldn't do it..
The plant will only get VERY big.. Or maybe you have a nice growing space?:)
This is only my side of the story..!:p I'm growing a few plants myself right now, and I plan on having them in 24/0 for 2 - 3 weeks, then changing the light cycle to 18/6 before I go into flower!:)

I run mine 24/0 and after week five I knock down the timer by 1.5 hours per day. After a week your at 12/12. I can't remember where I read it but it's suppose to less stressfull with a gradual decline. GOOD LUCK!!! :thumbsup:
