Whats up with these mail order offers?

I am new to this board. I have been smoking for quite some time (12+ years, yes I'm old) but I have never heard of mail order before. I put an ad in the want ad section, hoping that someone local to me would respond (no such luck) but I have been getting these mail order requests.

Is this real? Can people in the US get some good smoke through the mail and not get busted? How can you trust the individuals that send you mail? Its not that I'm thinking or talking bad about anyone, but...this just seems....bogus, and a good way to get your ass handed to you when you get arrested for receiving illegal items via the mail.

Your input would be most appreciated, and if there are any locals out there in Mississippi (Gulfport / Biloxi) - I would LOVE to hear from you and would be more then happy to compensate you for your time and effort.

Hey there, yea mail order is the real deal. It's not as dangerous for you as it is for the sender. All you'll get if someone sends you a package with weed in it is a green letter saying your package was siezed. Mail order has some good weed too. Top quality stuff for the same prices as on the streets except for it's more reliable.

Just be sure to do your research. The first people to contact you are usually scammers. A search on the forum can reveal a lot.

Damn, you sir are correct. Did some research, and picked a cannabis.com local. Speaking of scammers, one of the first offerings that I got was from THCbank...
