whats better for a 4' x 4' veg.grow

i got me a 1000w hps for flowering but i dont know whats better for veg. between 250 mh or a 400mh.what would be the difference

I Would go with the 400 for that size. I think a 400 is for 3x3 or 4x4. The 250 might would work. How many are you growing in veg ? Unless you already have those lights you could veg with flouro's. Tell us more about your setup.

well,i got lots of space to grow.iam only using like 3'x3' area rite know.this is my first time growing and im hooked.at this time i got like 3 females about 15" tall.they are growing in 12" plastic pots with organic soil,perlite and vermiculite.i have about twenty lil plants about an inch tall all growing on a wood pallet under 1000whps.i wanna strt flowering know but the lil plants need more veg.time.thats my reason for buying the mh light.i aint too good at construction or else i would use the whole garage for growing.like 20' x 20' area.man once i know what im doing im gonna go nutz.im gonna take some pictures so you can see.
