Allright guys, here's a couple questions for you, first the technical.

I read everywhere that you can put a plant back into vegetation from flowering by simply switching it back to 24 hour lighting. I've also read that you let your mother plants go to flower, harvest thier best cola's, with 5 or 6 nodes left, then let her go again in vegetation. she'll mutate but begin growing again.

Now here's the question, if momma will start growing again, why not just harvest the plants to the point where they wont shock into hermafradites, then switch them back over to veg. This way, you could use one grow room and just let the plants recover after the harvest. Seems like this would be a fast process.

Is this feasable, i appreciate the opinion. If no one knows, come january, when i do my first grow, ill attempt the technique.

Secondly, a question on strain, im looking for a strain that can grow close to each other. Preferable, very narrow christmass tree esque. I would like to use a 80,000 lumen light and have 25 to 30 square feet of grow space, each square foot occupied by a 1x1 tub with one tree in it growing tall and narrow. In this fassion, i could get the most out of my lights and space.

Can this be achieved with a specific strain, if so can i get a recommendation and maybe a photo link,

If not, can a plant be trained into this.

just get a strain with 100% sativa genetics.. id go for dutch passion's durban poison it's one of the few un-touched sativa's that you can find.. they grow tall and spindly, in some ways, like a christmas tree. cool lighting you found.. too bad you can't use 4 foot tubes in limited grow spaces tho.. guess you must have a decent amount of space to work with.. which brings me to wonder why do you want to grow only narrow plants? you could have a great library of genetics all for yourself :D

I am simply looking for the best volume and quality for my space. Going to be taking advantage of a basement hopefully, i just cant use to much power to avoid gaining attention.

Better question, what breed is going to produce the highest yields with a 600 watt 80k lums lamp in a 6x7 or so area. Gonna have that for the main flowering room, and then a smaller room for the initial clone and veg room and for my momma's, that is assuming my plants wont just be producing yields again and again as i think they might be able to.

Also, if anyone has some insight into the mother plant thought, please, way in on it.

600 watts won't nearly cover that amount of space. You should ideally have 8,000 lumens per square foot in your flowering room. A 1000w hps puts out 140,000 lumens, which still wouldn't be enough for your grow space. 140,000/42 = 3,333.3 repeating lumens per square foot. Which is... NOT enough. I would suggest upgrading your lighting system and sizing down your grow room a bit... Heli's are looking for bigger heat sources then four or so HID's, they wanna bust the big boys, and as long as you pay your electricity bill.. You won't have a problem :D

gotcha, i had read 2 to 3k lumens per sq ft/, and im seeing now 8k, good advice and ill research it more. I havent begun this process yet, i am simply planning. Should be moving into a new place in december, so i wana have all my ducks in a row. I'll look into a 1000W HPS system, 140k initial lumens, prolly around 110 mean lumens. thats looking at 14 sq ft or so.

To be completly guns and money though, my goals are to have 4 plants mature each month with an optimum output of 8 oz, average 5. How much space and lighting power am i going to need.

If i do this on a 4 month cycle, do i need 4 grow rooms or can this be done in one room with different heigth plants. Maybe the better option is to grow 16 or 20 plants in one big cycle and look for a big yield?

Again, if anyone can tell me, if a plant flowers, then is topped and put back to vegitation, can it again be put to flower after it makes growth back fromt he topping with its two new shoots? repeat process = one plant for life?

1st...You could do the re-veg like you say, but it takes a couple of months before it starts to re-produce...Imho/from my research...

2nd...I checked out the light you had @link...It says it replaces a 400w MH
HID Lamp...well that equates to 4x4 foot grow area to get necessary light coverage...so, 4x 8 area, you would need 2 of those lights and so on.
On another note. I am not sure that you will get the same intensity from that light that you would an HID...again, Imho...goodnight

if this start of reproduction takes that long, it pretty much negates the idea of having a mother plant thats sole purpose is giving clones, especially if you need clones on amonthyl basis. Is this the case, does everyone just clone of thier plants before setting them to flower?

I just threw the link out on the light, thought it was interesting, i cant afford to experiemnt like that on my first grow though. Going with HPS prolly a 600W 80k lums lamp and a small Halide for veging youngins.

Did HO have some research info on revegging plants? ill start searching around.

Maybe this could be productive enough if i could get enough colas off of one plant, which might require a chicken screen setup for support. but if there's 10 colas, maybe a wait is worth it....but 2 months seems awful long.

It has nothing to do with reveg...You clone a female...you root clones...one of them is a monster...BAM!!! :p There is your mother...Now you keep her in veg/healthy...take clones, whenever you need them...they, the clones/cuttings can be kept in your cloner under fluoros for weeks at a time, until you are ready for them...then you veg for 2-3 weeks and flower/finish...
Got It?...You could re-veg a plant that turned out awesome, but you don't have any offspring; in hopes of getting a mother/clone or possibly keep re-vegged plant as Mother by keeping her in perpetual veg; once she is thriving!
