Where are you located? I've used cardboard filters, but I thought it was pretty much just a European thing.

I found it fucking hard to roll when I first started smoking. Now I can roll seven paps with no problem... only time and pot usage goes up of course. All you need is practice... and more of it. Some people are just good at it, though... somehow.
