how close can i put a 70W HPS to the tops of the plants?!? I just put seeds to germinate 2day!!! :D Gonna be growing them wit a 70W HPS with a coupla CFL's 2700K. One is definetly skunk red hairs the second i know is a good ass skunk also but the seeds are from origins unkown so can't get a definite on the strain. Gats only 3ft worth of growing space in a 5ft high flowering room cuz im using big ass pots, cuz i heard that there is a direct link between root mass and bug size and since i want a lot!!! Hehe. At what height should i flower my babies so that they have a final height of 3ft? and also how many plants can i squeeze in to a 2ftx2ft space? :confused:
to make a plant flower you turn the light down to 12/12 when the plant starts to have alternating nodes. The question i wanna ask is does giving the plant more than 12Hrs of darkness (14-16hrs) quicken the flowering rate or increase the quantity of bud?!
CLONE AND VEG ROOM:
Dimensions: 2ftx2ftx2ft
Lighting: CFL's 6500K
Photoperiod: 24/7
FLOWERING ROOM:
Dimensions: 5ftx2ftx2ft
Lighting: 70W HPS + CFL's 2700K
Photoperiod: 12/12

Want 3 ft finish flowering? You need to start flowering when its about 1 ft high then. And if you want a lot of bud, you'll need to top it and tie that shit down...way down. All over the place so it stays low. Only way I see this working for you. GOOD LUCK, MATE!

alkbud.... when you are germinating, you don't need the light.. but once it sprouts... you will need to bring the light down to wihin 1 foot. keep the soil moist until the plant has established some deep roots.. MOIST, not muddy).. after 7-14 days, you should bring the light to within 1 inch of your plant and keep a light fan blowing between the top of your plants and the light...
the closer the light, the bigger the buds...

for the germination i ain't gots da lights on. gots the seeds on moist paper towels in a dark and humid environment. but what about using more than 12hr light? any effect?
