IF your using soil, three to five days in a four inch pot, one inch down in moist soil at 70-75 degrees. Cover the tops of the pots with plastic wrap and a rubber band. Place 3-4 SMALL holes in the "lid" and remove the plastic AS SOON AS you see your beautiful little babies break ground so they can get all the gasses they need as they reach for the "sun"..... While I'm sure this method may not be the best I can tell you that so far I have not lost one single seed (they were stored for just over a year too!) this way! :D
i mean if u put it in a wet paper towel in a container, how long then
i agree with dumass ive never lost a seed with this method, i dont even cover them with anything i just put them somewhere dark and warm till they appear.
ive never understood the paper towel method, seems like a lot of extra trouble for the same result.. a nice healthy seedling.
well it took 9 of my seeds one day and the 10th seed two days with the paper towel method.
the reason I do it Jolly, the towl methiod that is, is because i start a lot at a time, and i dont want to waste the extra space in my closet. This way, i know which have germinated and dont have space just taken by a pot with a seed that may not be good.
ok well i was germinating a few seeds using the paper towel method and nothing happend for two days so i just put them in the soil and im hopeing for the best.
i have a few plants growin now using the papertowel method but they sprouted during the process...confuses me
