I been hearing great things about This Hortiliux bulbs.. Is money an issue..?
not really...I just harvested my outdoor grow and sold most of it...so it's time to move and grow indoors for the winter.
J Dog,
I'm getting (from Better Grow Hydro) a 1000W dual bulb system. It consists of a 600W HPS and a 400W MH, both in the same reflector, and with one dual-balast. BGH has upgrade options for the bulbs... I ordered both upgrades.
See for your self, hope this helps:::
1000W Super Spectrum Grow Light System

Ya that one is nice ...do you guys think that the MH helps that much.
I know it would be a wider spectrum but will it effect the normal way the HPS works(will my plants get enough HPS with only 600 w HPS and 400 MH ?)I know it's kind of a stupid question ,just trying to understand the way indoor lights work a little better...waying my options.
Valid question... I just hope the plants turn out good...
As to enough HPS with 600W... I don't know. My thinking is; I've heard quote some people say that a 600W bulb is a pretty mid level. So I was thinking of flowering with the 400W MH, then placing the 600W HPS for flowering...
With BGH's system, I was thinking that when flowering comes around, I'll turn ON both bulbs and see if I can deal with the heat. If my fans/cooling system is able to keep up with both bulbs, I'll go for it. Otherwise, I'll stay with only the 600W for flowering...
Of couse, thinking about that right now, I'm inclined to start seeing what kick-ass fan can I get to keep the temp low... hmmm....
Well after much research the best buld....Hortilux is up there.....although while HPS has had the best for a while....now the MH Hortilux Blue is supposed to reproduce the most acurate replication of the sun....so one bulb start to finish...but not as much stretching as with a HPS hortilux. SO gonna try and grab one of ebay as cost in stores for MH BLue Hortilux 1000 is 299 plus tax!
I think for now I'll go with 1000 w HPS on a light rail and get one of those new MH next time.
