New Smoking tool...

Hello everyone,

I'd like to share with you guys an idea that I've been boiling inside my head for quite some time now... All input is greatly appreciated, as I hope that I can build a prototype soon.

SALES PITCH: How would you like to smoke wherever you are? How would you like to smoke vaporized buds? How about having it concealed in a lighter? How about having enough vapo smoke to last you the entire day? How about tokin inside the movie theater without anybody knowing?

Please bear with me...

IDEA: You get a Volcano vaporizer... others will work, but let's use the Volcano for simplicity.
1. You fill up your Volcano bag with THC vapor...
2. You take a "pressure chamber" (basically, a cylinder), and discharge the THC vapor from the bag INTO that pressure chamber. Now, the pressure chamber is divided into two sections by a piston in the middle. When you discharge the THC vapor into one of the sections, the piston is retracted.
3. You connect the output of this 'THC vapor chamber' to a small nipple - just like the ones used to refill butane lighters. To this nipple, you connect an EMPTY refillable butane lighter.
4. You then proceed to push the piston DOWN from the other side of the cylinder.

You would be pushing all the THC vapor into the lighter. I checked, and the typical Bic Lighter has about 60psi of butane inside. It's a good estimate to shoot for 50psi of THC vapor inside the lighter.

5. Once you've filled up your lighter, you're ready to go! Whenever you want to smoke, just place the lighter on your mouth and press on the valve for a couple of seconds...


PROBLEMS: Will the THC vapor solidify/liquify inside the lighter? Thereby clogging it?
You might need to do a couple of cycles of refilling in order to get the lighter to 50psi.

I can't answer any of your questions but that seems like the coolest idea in the world. I don't think I could ever be patient enough to do it though. I'd probably end up taking a hit somewhere between the bag and the pressure chamber.

Your fundamental prolem would be the psi would need to be far greater than a bic as you would have failure in making the gas pure THC vapors.

THC vaporizes at what, 212 F? But that is accomlished with air at that temperature being drawn across THC laden material. YOu cannot vaporize THC by contact...it must be done by air at specific temps being drawn across trichomes, and melting them to a gas.

Thus, your cylinder would contain at least 5 or 6 times more O2 than THC vapor.

NOw get around that issue and I will order all you can get some chinese people to make :)

But one last issue......

The THC, once cooled, will return from a gaseous state to a resinous state. So your cylinder would also have to heat to 212 F to turn again to gas.

I couldn't be more excited to share my idea... OK! So I had pretty much the same idea... what's portable, small, and easy access to the mouth... CANDY! So you get this pressure chamber to a specific heat at which the THC vaporizes but does not combust, obviously... have a connecting chamber where a piece of hard candy... such as a mint is placed because you could not have the candy in the same chamber at the temp needed to vaporize the THC cuz the chemicals in the candy would combust way before... none-the-less... in your candy chamber... or 'cooling chamber'... the THC vapor is then released into this chamber where it is cooled and condenses on the candy itself... thus forming a condensed layer of THC on the mint... so whenever ur in class or on a bus and wanna get ripped... pop in a mint! And in seconds you'll be higher than ever!! (thought about that idea when I was lit... also... ponder the idea of alcoholic gum... maybe?) Hahaha... thanks for starting this thread turtle!!

Interesting... I read a FAQ yesterday for making THC pills... Using the gelcaps that are typically available. You would boil your THC mixture (hash, keef, etc.) and after a process, you'd end up with a powder, which you would then proceed to put into the gelcaps.... Whenever you wanted to get high, you pop one of the gelcaps into your mouth and swallow it.... It's an interesting idea.

The biggest set-back I see for "my" idea is the fact that the THC vapor will probably change from 'vapor', to something more "thick"-- like resin or THC 'oil'.
QUESTION: Anybody have a Volcano vaporizer? How long can you leave the vapor in the bag? Before it, um... soldifies? Does it solidifiy?

Turtle we have several new mods here today and one of them is called Ocram. He is a very cool person and he does have a volcano so you can ask him abou it. He hangs in chat a lot of the times look for him there.

Hmmm.... this is getting very very interesting....

Zandor, I'll look for Ocram... Maybe I can build a quasi-prototype and send him over there for testing.

If you wanted to, you could contact Kelly and talk to him about the physics of the idea also. He's the co-founder of the company and knows the machine like the back of his hand.
