busted

My roommate and I were pulled over in Oregon yesturday and the officer searched the car and found like a gram of bud and a small pipe. He gave us both a "ticket" for possession under an ounce and a court date. The ticket was a misdemeanor and he checked the box traffic violation. He said it wasn't a big deal and not to worry too much. This is our first offence. What kind of fine are we looking at? Has anyone been through the process or known someone who has? Are we gonna be put on some sort of drug program? Community Service?

Looking at the NORML link there, it looks like you're lucky that you were in one of the more lenient states when it comes to marijuana laws. I wouldn't expect anything worse than a fine and maybe a 6-month suspension of your driver's license (though I doubt they'll suspend your license for just one gram). Don't worry about rehab or community service or any of that stuff.

After he gave you a ticket he was then nice to you, I'd have so much resent for him now, after he fined you, and told you that lol

youll only have to pay the fine, go at the court and they should just put this "offense" in your judicial case (fuk dunno the word)

anyway i got busted with a half gram and they did nothing. dont worry man

yeah it could be a problem, I dont believe oregon allows expungement, if I were you I would pin it on the other guy in court dont take no deals they will probly drop it rather than go to trial.
