Anybody else ever have an extended and overwhelming psychotoxic reaction to cannabis?
I'm in the process of recovering from one that's lasted 2.5 weeks, and it's been Hell.
I had severe attacks of anxiety, panic, and hypochondria, I had some degree of acute brain syndrome, and I was constantly afraid that I had rabies or that I was suffering from cardio-pulmonary failure.
I've been fine over the past couple of days, and haven't needed to use ativan since Tuesday (which is good, because it's caused ataxia and over-sedation in me).
Now before you laugh, I know it's cannabis, because it triggerred the first attacks, and I had an isolated psychotoxic episode last summer.
In general, I'm the last one off of a joint or a bowl when I smoke with friends, and the nights that I have smoked, I've over-indulged and at times during the summer I was smoking moderate to large amounts virtually every night.
Should I ever smoke again, how much should I allow myself to smoke if I ever choose to do so again, and should I avoid activities that involve extensive psychomotor and/or intellectual stimulation while high (I spent a lot of my intoxicated time playing poker, video games, and fast-paced edutainment pub games (Megatouch) that involved extensive manipulation of words and/or numbers) and favour relaxation instead?

What's the solution? Continuing to smoke, but smoking a lot less?

Or should I abandon the drug forever?
It's been 9 days since I've had weed and 6 since I've had coffee (although I've had soft drink and tea, so I've consumed small amounts of caffeine, but nothing like I was before). My alcohol use is down (mainly because the worst of my bad period included a time where I had no appetite for (but was still perfectly capable of consuming) anything but water), but I was never drinking more than 1 to 3 units a day anyways.

Now before I type, there's no reason to laugh. It can't be cannabis because all of it's effects are non-toxic.

If it's that serious, how about never smoking again?
But I seriously doubt marijuana alone could trigger something like that.
