RASTA'S NEW BOX

Check out my pimpin' new grow box designed/built/ and painted entirely by myself! The device that pumps the fresh air in from outside is really just a simple fan tied up in a garbage bag... Just goes to show what you can do with what you have :)! Anyway it's finally constructed and my Durban x Skunk #1 are on their way from Nirvana, I got my 400w Hortilux today and am glad to say that everything is in working order. Ok, I'm all set... Now I just have to wait for the fucking seeds. Anyone order from the doc before? If so is he safe/reliable?

Oh and if your wondering about measurements she's 2x3' by 5' tall.

Well I think it looks really good :) and you're going to be growing a Durban x Skunk#1 variety. To be honest the Skunk #1 is prehaps my favourite to grow it's a very hardy little plant and does produce a reasonably potent bud.
So if it's crossed with a bit of Durban it should be a very reasonable bud ;)

Dude, the cabinet looks very cool. I congratulate you on a job well done.
I'm doing something very similar... it's on the Closet/Cabinet Forum (http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?t=32206)... I liked your idea for the fans... I'm doing something similar: I'm going to get 16" or 18" fans, then build a cone so it goes from 16"-->4"... then that 4" I hook-up to my cabinet. The 16" will outperform the smaller, more costly 'fart fans'. Obviously, they take up more space, and cannot be easily integrated into the cabinet, but I know the performance will really prove it self.

Keep on updating... and post more pictures of your cabinet!

Yea I hear that, you can do all you need to with basic fans, and I wasn't about to go and dish out 90 dollars for some rediculous rat-cage unit after all the main idea is to replace the air in the grow room every 5-10 minutes right? So why not do it at a fraction of that price :) Hmm oh but wait you have one? Is it the one that sucks air in or shoots air out? Cuz I would think if you have one of those pumping fresh air in you wouldn't need another fan, just simply cut a hole near the top of your closet (The idea being that hot, used air rises) or install a vent, I'm not sure if you have to keep this closet lookin' pretty (Is it in a family place?) Anyway happy growin' man I can't wait to see your designs persued and be sure to let us know what strains you grow!

I don't have any fans yet... I will buy them a little in the future. You're right about the airflow... just to replace the air inside the box and keep the temperature at optimum. As to the holes @ the top of the cabinet, yeah, that makes perfect sense.

The reason I'm going for two fans is::: I'm running a 4-5square feet space, with a 1000W system. It has one 600W HPS, and a 400W MH. I really doubt I'll run them both at the same time, but in anycase, 600W (or 1000W) is shitloads of heat to put out. That's the reason for the two fans.
In outputting the air, I'm really concerned about the smell... I don't want to wake up one morning and find out my entire crop's smell is about to get me busted. So, I'm putting a 6" exhaust tube, connected to an activated carbon filter ( http://www.overgrow.com/growfaq/1509 ). I hope to be able to make my cabinet sturdy enough so I can seal it as much as possible... I'll be using that caulkin silicone [?] and some weather strips.

My cabinet isn't in a family place... it's, actually it will be built inside a closet. Nobody will see it, except me... and you guys!

As to the strains I'll be growing: I ordered some White Russian seeds... I forgot from where (! stoner!!!)... I guess they're still about 3-4weeks away... if they don't get stoped by customs... that would suck dick. I don't know what the fuck I would do then. I'll ask the guy to re-send the seeds. I guess he'll be understanding.

Hey, yeah dude I used caulking too, it works great no light seeping from the cabinet at all just be sure to line the inside of the box and not the ouside.
