Sprouting Seeds Indoors
Hey everyone,
I was wondering what the best way to sprout seeds indoors is. I have foxfarm soil mix, vermiculite, and pearlite. any suggestions would be great. I was also wondering the light racio for seeds before they sprout and after they sprout (ie 18/6) I think i read somewhere that you should keep your seeds in the dark 24/7 before they sprout up but im not sure.
Thanks,

There are lots of ways that work so I really doubt there's a best way. It's more like how much effort you want to put into it.
Search the forums for "germinate", or whatever, and you'll find good ideas as well as other useful random info.
This is a good reference too: http://www.overgrow.com/growfaq/t525

yeah hey if you can give me a hand too I need help growing too. What's the best way to germinate? I use the paper towel method. It takes my seeds from 24 hrs to 3 or 5 days to see a small taproot come out is that normal?

the most effective way of seed germination is to pop them right into soil.. make sure your soil is thoroughly soaked and sow your seeds 1/4" deep. wait a few days (don't water again until you've got sprouts) and you should have 100% germination in 3 days.. oh and store your pots in a relatively warm area (80-85 f) for this stage

i used paper towels on my own fresh seeds, when germination rate didnt matter cause the supply was plentyful and free. when i bought some MO seeds it never worked so well. start them right in the soil - thats what some seed sellers recommend. i used lights from the start but only to keep my grow box warm in a cool basement.

I normally use a propagation tray and as rastakaze said just put them in the soil...i use small bowls of boiling water and put them into the propagator, keps its warm and humid i normally have 100% germination within 2-3days!
