Police Stun 12-Year-Old Girl For Arguing, Then Laugh at Her

A Cincinnati-area mother says her 12-year-old daughter was humiliated and eventually stunned with a taser gun by Cincinnati Police inside Burton Elementary School Wednesday.

"My daughter Rakehsa has never been arrested and never been in trouble with the law," Cynthia Harris tells ONN affiliate WXIX.

Rakesha Thomas was taken to Children's Hospital with taser injuries and arm and facial bruises.

After the hospital visit the girl was taken to juvenile jail.

Cynthia Harris says Rakesha argued with another student, refused to go to detention, talked back to administrators, and then after 30 minutes of arguing with police got stunned.

"They did it out in the public in the school where other kids came around. She (Rakesha) said they were laughing," said Harris.

According to the 12-year-old's account, once threatened with being stunned she begged the officers to take her to ISS but was told it was too late.

Cincinnati Police say they're investigating whether the use of force was justified.

Yeah, I'll agree that the police shouldn't be using a taser on a 12yo girl. Whatever cop or cops that did this should lose their job.

That being said, if the girl had just done what she had been told it would have never happened. My feeling is that most of the blame in on her parents. What the fuck are some people teaching their kids these days. I was taught to respect my elders . Especially authority figures like teachers and police. If I told my parents that I had been tased after refusing to do what my teachers told me and then argueing with the police for 30 minutes they would have told me I deserved it and then grounded my ass for a week.

Again, let me say for the record that I agree that this was excessive force and that the officers involved should lose their jobs. I've just seen a pattern in most of these cases where everyone forgets that the little fuck getting tased deserved some punishment. Maybe lil' Rakesha will think twice the next time she refuses to do what the police tell her to do. Probably not, but we can hope.
