I am newbie, but all the books and internet stuff I have read say no. Not the right Lumens, too much heat. If you have to do it on the cheap get Flourescent and place the bulb real close, or buy a High pressure sodium from home depot. from what I read you really need a 400Watt or more of HPS or ML to really do it justice. Once again I am newbie, so take it with a grain of salt!
thanks for the thread man!! lol but ya ill try the flourescent light.. but im just wonderen if it will work just for the hell of trying it lol. how bout u, u growen??

And if anyone alse could help me out that would be great
if you can't afford anything more...go to wally's and get a 45watt cfl 8-9 bucks, otherwise forget growing...until you can afford light...sorry

Just look for the ones that look like a coil. Try to get at least 23+ watters as that's about as small as you should go but then you should be using as many as you can afford (within reason...not like 1000 of 'em! ha but a few of them at least). 45 or the 65's that HD suggested all the better. The more light the better. Then put them right down on the plant at a minimum of 1-2" from it and just keep it that close. They'll grow.
