Altenative to tying down the plant! Is this dangerous

Hey guys, my plants are in a spot where they could easily be noticed cause theyâ??re getting pretty tall. I read on the board about tying plants down with string but I canâ??t use this technique since I have insufficient space around the plants.

I saw in a movie I downloaded on the Internet that you could bend the tops down to a point where they almost beak but not to the point of detaching themselves from the plant itself!

Is this an alternative to tying plants down with string??????

Anyone ever heard about this????

Is it safe?????

Any help would be greatly appreciated cause Iâ??m afraid someone might see them and steal my plants.

You can actually take a bud stem and simply snap it in half....gently of course.

It will remain alive, assuming you didnt sever the stem :D Snap the stem not the part that attaches to the branch.

It will remain alive and continue to flower.

The flower will dangle below and you will not have a height issue any longer.

I have NEVER done this on the main stem, only the secondaries.

Expertment with one or two and see for yourself.

They keep on growing :)

But I did it myself...by accident of course but learned a bit. It was already in flower for what thats worth.

If they are growing side by side then pull them all over in the same direction,like this //////// it wont take up anymore room ,its easier to bend the plants near the tops, you can bend them more, waiting 4 days to a week so they dont snap, you can get them growing straight down if you have too.
You'll probly break some,I think most people do..

Hey HARDDON, I decided to tie them down and off course, I did break one of the main top so I guess I'll wait and find out if it keeps on growing like the rest of the tops that did not break and are just bent toward de ground.

I cant wait for all this to be over, it's taking forever. The flowers aren't that big?????? Is it supposed to get crazy toward the end and flower like crazy or is it just another fucking sativa! The name of my plant is supposedly Canadian Pearl witch is a cross between Silver Pearl and something else?

I some of you are interested, both the tops that where tied down and the top that did break kept one flowering at the same speed!

So, if youâ??re tops are getting too tall, it does not make any difference if you tie them down or if you gently break them (making sure they stay attached to the plant off course!). AMAZING DONâ??T YOU THINK?

i'll second that. i've got a huge papaya, probably 8' by 8' around. couple of weeks ago a helicoper flew low nearby and i got paranoid, so i ran outside and pushed the plant down in a panic and i heard a distinct snap. coper never came back and i propped the big plant up best i could as i had snapped the main stalk, but not all the way through. i sweated for a couple of days, but the papaya came roaring back, never even wilted. it is just starting to bud halfway decent. anyone have experience with this plant? i also have a nirvana shiva plant that is also 8' and just as big around. freakin' me out, i didn't want huge plants. i tied them down in the beginning, but learned that you have to be consistant and keep tying most of the summer. the shiva is even later, just now collecting flowers, but i heard it is a strong smoke. good luck with your own grow :)
