my first grow journal! number #6 grow!

O'k people I decided last week,that I would make my own grow journal on my number #6 grow,I have had 4 other grows with success but through each grow I did better and better with the yeild,I have a grow right now that will be finished in a month or so ,and by the looks of things this will be my best yeild to date!.........So starting at this moment I will begin my journal,I have already taken pictures of the beginning stages for the journal and will post them here today when I upload the pic's from the camera...........................

Materials:
#1.... I will be growing with soil/mixed with perlite/peat moss.
#2.... clones of 5 strains/indica/sativa that I have up and running,along with some bag seed my brother gave me from his cronic!(number of plants unknown?)
#3...no advance nutes!/will be only using plant prod products.
#4 I will be growing with 4ft flourecent tube's 6 in total followed by a 1000w hps system/for flowering/may even flower a few under flourecents just for the fun of it.....

my grow journal will have pictures and illustrations every step in the process of growing except for over detail of how many times I check the ph in the run of a day lol......anyhow looking forward to getting it started and I invite everyone to read along and view my journal......thanks.

mellow man....sounds like you will have a nice start ahead of you esp since you have some experience...ill be looking forward to your updates.....but i do have one questiong for you myself....( if you do use US currency ) is it real expencive to run that 1000wer for the flowering period ? ... i know it would only be used for 12 hrs a day ...but was thinking about maybe going with a 1000w system rather than a 400w....thanks ..... PPP

Actually I use Canadian funds :) it cost about $50 to $56 canadian dollars to run for one month on 12/12 cycle 18/6 would cost me probably around $70 to $75,it's not a big difference on your light bill either! I only use the hps for 12/12 14/12. don't know what that would be in american?....tip of the day,if you want to keep the electric bill down without a 56 dollar increase just start being more conservative with your utilit'es,if your not watching tv shut it off,don't leave bathroom fan running all day!,keep the lights off when your not in the room,just keep an eye on those things and the bill will balance out youl'l be surprised....

I will be using 5 or 6 different strains in total ,Blueberry, Black Cambodian,looped(also known as wheel chair weed),shiva supreme,fruit punch,and unknown strain given to me from a friend of a friend,haven't grown it before until now and I have 7 of them already with 6 leaves in the first week,I like surprises lol.....hope to get a good mother from one of the seven.I have mother's for all my strains except for a couple because I just keep using the method a clone from a clone from a clone!......here are some pic's of strains I will be cloning. :)

Note all those pictures above are plants that are only 3 1/2 weeks into flowering approximently 24 days into flowering.

Pictures of my mother plants and other vegged plants that I take my cuttings from,these plants remain under flourecent lights 18/6 as quick as I take cuttings they grow back,note:thats why there are no branch's on the bottom of the plants,got alot of under carriage cut out.....I change my mother plants every 6 months to 8 months or so from their clones,I do this because I find that letting your mother plants get to big takes up too much light keep things on a smaller scale and you won't find yourself jumbling for room...lots of space to move around and for exsperiements with vegging plants.

On that last pic, looks like you got a n-deffeciency. Im thinking its a Zinc(Zn) deffiency.
My advice would to be flush medium with a dilute complete fert, with chelated trace elements includiung zn , fe , and mn.

Either that or its burned.

In these pictures it shows me taking cuttings from all my strains!

I cut every clone twice! the first cut is done off the main plants of course,the second cut is done under ph balanced water!to prevent bubbles.

I usually run my cutting tools under my propane tanks flame the same tank I hot knife with lol usually allows the heat to run over my blades surfice or scissor blades for several seconds long enough to sterilize the tools I am using,then wipe off the black soot and start cutting..

.I choose only healthy looking clones and try to take them no less then 4 inch's long,all depends I guess, I often cloned a little tiny branch maybe a inch or 2 at most with success,cutting a clone or branch very short may cause your leaves to touch the medium that the clones are in and you may end up with a mole problem,thats why try to have some length to the stock on the clone that way keeps all leaves above medium less chance of mole or fungus... Also if my cuttings have alot of foilage i will sometimes cut back the leave a little this prevents drooping clones and prevents the cuttings from touching the medium/also cutting the leaves allows the cutting more energy to use on root develoment in the medium,but be carefull not to cut to much foilage ,plant may not recieve enough light,leaves act as solor panels for the plants.....
