Hey Zandor or Harddon, or anyone with such information on this question.
How many voltz does 1 single plugin output give?
I had a problem the other day, I plugged in my MH light over top of 2 new clones in the same plugin as my powerbar that has my HPS lights on my other 3 plants. The MH light just went out, it went backon after I put it in a different socket, for a second I thought my bulb burnt out but I just want to know how many voltz does 1 plugin give, and is there a way to increase it without flamable problems.

It's not volts but the amps you probably overloaded the circuit. Most standard house current in the USA can provide up to 20 amps of power (standard 120v ac) the safe amount calculated is 80% of that or 16 amps. You can use the other 4 amps but you saw what happened. It was most likely the surge of the Transformer powering up. They use more power when the light first is turned on to power the capacitors and in the case of HPS igniters as well. Your MH and HPS light (well over 400w) runs on 277v ac so the 120v in is stepped up. Then once it's up to temperature it settles down and the amp requirements is less.

Power strips use a 15 amp thermal breaker so most of the time they will trip before the main circuit will.

Yes, thank you, but Zandor, if I was to plug in a powerbar does that mean every socket in the powerbar would produce 16amps in each socket? I dought it but worth a try, and another thing do lights in the roof produce more electricity then sockets? Im thinking about taking out my basement light and wireing it to my lights.

A power strip does not provide more avaialble amperage.

NO: for that plug socket there are usually about 6-8 plugs on one breaker. That is not always the case but a good rule of thumb to follow

A light socket is more like 15A and just so you know there are about 4-6 lights on each circuit. Again it's a good rule of thumb to follow.
