HPS And UV Rays
Ive heard that HPS lights do not give off many UV rays. I was wondering if i
would put a couple halogen lights 150Watts a piece in the room would the UV
rays for the halogen help any. I know you cant grow with just halogen lights
but i am wondering if it would be a good idea To add it seeing as i have the
HPS in their also And the halogen lights give off a tone of UV rays. Please get

HPS And UV Rays
No they don't, making Hps not suitable for vegging.
Now halogens will cause problems for you. You would be better off using an Hps bulb than 5 halogen bulbs. The reason is, it is not the correct light spectrum. The plants will take in maybe 8% of the rays coming out, thus, a waste of time making about 92% of the light output useless. Second, is they give off WAAAAAY too much heat. You are guaranteed to burn your plants using those and keeping the growroom cool enough will be an impossible task.
Use floros/CFL's, or Mh bulbs for vegging
Use Hps, or CFL's/floros for flowering
Use a mix of an hps, and mh for flowering
Those are your best bets when it comes to growing. No other bulb will produce worthwhile pot. I would rather see you use CFL's than halogens, or MV bulbs. They give off too much heat like I said. Hope this helps...
