high all,
Hope all is well today :)
Here is my fourth grow, currently under way. I have 1 Strawberry Cough, 1 Big Blue going now. It has been one week since I put those beans into germinating.
I will be using 200W of CFL's for vegging, and 225W hps for flowering. I am using basic soil again from wal-mart with added vermiculite. I am growing in a space approx 2.5ft square.
So, day 1 of vegging begins today. I will update once a week, every Monday, right here on this thread if anyone cares to follow my progress. I will inform you at that time of any changes, and when I begin feeding. Hope to see you all soon. Peace and happy growing!

The only update as of today is I put up left over mylar for reflection on my walls. As you see in the picture, I have none. Right away I noticed a big change in light, much, much brighter. I'll update again on Monday with some pictures. Things are running smoothly so far. peace and keep growing.

High all,
Hope all is well today :) ...I am here for an update.
1st picture is Strawberry Cough
2nd picture is Big Blue
3rd picture is side by side shot.
I have used up some left over mylar and now my walls are white. I have noticed a HUGE diff. in reflection immediatly after I put it up. I haven't began feeding yet and won't for another week or two. So ya, not many changes so far but it's all going smoothly and looking alright so far.
I'll update in one weeks time again, on Monday. Feel free to ask any questions. Peace and keep growing!

It is so simple it's sad. I don't use anything too fancy at the moment. I just use potting soil with added vermiculite from wal-mart, has some added bark...like $10 a bag. I've been thinking about adding something more organic to the soil mix for when I transplant in a few weeks, but I have no idea where to start. I'm lost when it comes to mediums, I just know that I can grow the things in soil. Any suggestions anyone?

nowchowderforyou, simple is usualy the way to go,but if you wont to give your potting mix a bit of body.
You could add to the cheap potting mix that you buy about 15%peat moss this will help with water holding capasity.
the bark you use should be composted fines.
If you think it needs a little more drainage you could add maybe 10% or so of washed course river sand.
Hope this helps a little....Watching your thread with interest, good work...

Hey, thanks for the reply bud
That helps quite a bit. I too agree, it needs better drainage. When I let the soil dry up, I water, and for about 5-10seconds the water doesn't soak in. It sits on top, but eventually it goes down.
I'll try the peat moss next time around, or maybe I'll use vermiculite again  Who knows. I'll be going to the garden store soon because I'll be transplanting these ladies into their fianl home.
Thanks again, peace and keep growing!
