Well, I just got back from the hospital after a DXM overdose. I took 600mg 2 nights in a row, so I spent the night at the hospital. I had an IV giving me fluid all throughout the night, and they stuck a tube up my penis to try to get a piss test, but my bladder was dry. Just thought you all would like to know that yes, it does happen. Yes, I know I'm retarded. Don't feel the need to repeat it. Oh, and I give up on DXM. No, I don't give up on all the other drugs though. Thanks.
Damn dude, that sucks? Are you young enough that you still live with your parents? If so, were they mad pissed at you?
What's your weight? On the FAQ, it said 600mg is like the second plateau. I guess it just affects everyone differently.
I'm 160lbs. My mom is a recovering alcoholic so she understands what happened. I think the Erowid FAQ is wrong, because I tripped with 2 girls who took 300mg and almost overdosed too, with trembles ect
I guess I'm just more sensitive to you or something. Or maybe everyone thought I was overdosing and I really wasn't? I don't really remember any of the night :-/
What kind of cough medicine did you use?
DXM is safe for most people under 2000mg, some people have a deficiency for the primary enzyme that breaks down DXM though and if that is the case you will be more sensitive to the drug and the effects will last longer.
And about not remembering much of it... DXM temporarily makes it very difficult for your mind to form new memories, so most of the time people remember little about their trips aside from random snatches of memory. Also, your body builds up a tolerance to it when you take it, so the second night shouldn't have been as powerful as the first...
What exactly led you and other people to think you were ODing? Where did you get your DXM, and what form was it in?

Well, I took Robotussin Cough Gels that contained only DXM. What led me to believe I overdosed was I was unable to even move by my own. I was confined to lying in my living room for upwards of 2 hours.
Thats whats supposed to happen.
Haha, I know. Now that I've been looking back on it, I've come to the conclusion that I was dehydrated. Also, we had a conflict with very drunk neighbors which turned my trip into a terrible one.
