Anyone tried Marinol?

Just wondered is Marinol as good as weed? How much do you have to take for equal effect as smokin :eek:

My dealer got ahold of some a few months back. I hured its hard to find on the streets altho i could be very wrong. As for the dose, i dunno how much to take, he gave me 5 pills and said its more then enough(hes my friend so i trusted him). I wouldnt try to find it cause its almost the same thing. Kinda like smoking out of a vaporizer. It also feels sord of liek a weed high with very little alcohol and like 2 pills of nyquil. Its a fake high feeling. I didnt like it too much cause its basically the same thing that makes u feel not as good as weed. If u get it give it a try altho if u cant just stick to weed.

ive done it and didnt like it.. the high wasnt the same to me and didnt seem to help with my arthritas as much as smoked weed.. i thought it was more of a tired feeling kind of high.. like smoking really seedy schwag from hell but ive talked to others that enjoyed it and thought it was just as good as smoked or ingested weed 2-3 of the lil brown ones seemed to be about right for me the high lasted longer than smoking and it did make me real hungry and im not sure but i seem to remember some one tellin mr not to smoke for a while after taking it doing this can make you sick but your milage may vary

I was prescribed Marinol by an M.D. for back pain. Didn't like it because for me, all it did was give me the munchies. The effects are so subtle. One good bong toke is much more satisfying.
It is interesting to note that the bottle of Marinol that he gave me was in the hundreds of dollars (for I think it was 40 pills) if I had to pay for it myself. Just underscores the politics of legal vs illegal substances and how much the insurance companies and the pharmaceutical companies profit from keeping weed illegal.

i'd much rather be blowing smoke.

I tried one a few months ago, man... it was like a high I could feel from my toes to my ear tips! I reckon its like the high you get from eating weed but since I've never eaten any I dunno.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the munchies incured by this pill were massive. Oh and the guy I got it from was prescribed it specifically for increasing his apetite (he was seriously ill).

Marinol is both our governments, (Canada and U.S.A.), way of handing the business of Marijuana over to its friends in the Prescription Drug Business which is the same way they kiss the asses of the Oil, Tobacco and Alcohol giants. Did you people know that if William Randolph Hearst hadn't manipulated the American and subsequently the Canadian governments into making marijuana illegal in the first place, the Thalidomide disaster would never have happened! Take my advice, "Ignore Pot Laws", they are only there because some rich piece of shit decided for both the Canadian and American societies it would be that way. By removing the "right of choice" , these pricks sentenced hundreds of thousands to death by drunk driver or lifetime addiction to tobacco or Valium. Laws should be made to protect people not the profits of big business.

I took four or five and had the dry heaves for awhile. It didn't feel to me so much like a regular marijuana high, more like a tranq. I was basically comatose for a few hours, what a great high.

Fellas:

You can't replicate the effect of smoking weed in a pill. Shit, you can't even really replicate it by making pot brownies. The mechanism of ingestion (the way you take the drug) has everything to do with the effect it has on you.

When you smoke weed, part of the high is your lungs filling with smoke, cutting of oxygen intake to your brain and the THC being released in to your bloodstream through the alveoli in your lungs, then to your head

When you ingest weed, like with brownies, your stomach is metabolising the weed and putting the THC in your bloodstream which again eventually goes to your brain.

A pre processed pill made by a pharmaceutical company, is not made to make you high, it's made to take the pain relieving/anti-nausea effects of THC and make it into a marketable medicine. Sure there's THC in there and it may feel a little like weed..but again it's not going to get you high like you want to be.

So..the obvious answer to the question is..if you like the way you feel when you smoke weed..then you have to SMOKE weed to feel that way.

Anything else is inevitably going to disappoint you.
