Indoor grow setup questions

Ok. I have some successful outdoor grows under my belt, but I am going to start an indoor grow because I have my own place now. I would like to use a closet that is 6ftW x 2ftL x 6ft+H. I want to maximize production in order to sell some as well as some for stash. How many plants will fit in this space and what size light should I use? I am thinking along the lines of a 400-1000w hps lamp with some flouro support lighting for the sides. I intend to use soil mix in say 3gal pots. I would like to build a carbon filter to attach to an exhaust fan as well as oscillating fan(s). I can possibly use the 2nd bedroom (where the closet is located) for later grows when stealth is less of an issue so I am leaning towards getting a 1000w light. Would the 1000w fry the plants in the closet or will it be ok? Also, this may be a dumb question but can you use a lesser wattage bulb, say 400w or 600w in a 1000w ballast?

In 3 gallon paper pots you can probably fit 8 plants...

or you could go with 1 gallon pots and fit 12 plants

1000watts on a light mover would be ideal.. not a lot of movement maybe only 12- 18 inches...

you will need to exhaust t the closet to keep an ideal temp and steady flow of fresh co2

you will also want to keep the light about 8 - 16 inches from the tops of your plants for maximum yield... which means you will need a fan blowing between the tops of your plants and your lights..

I would go 12 plants with a short veg cycle.. 1000watts with adequate vent... and a mover...

how many weeks of veg. do you suggest? How high should the plants be before I switch to 12/12.

That depends on your strain. If you pick a strain from www.sensiseeds.com it clearly states how long till flowering( so the 12/12 cycle ) and it shows maximum yield. If you do use a 400-1000watt HPS, I suggest that you purchase a 1000watt HPS/MH Switcher for only 260$ US. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...PageName=WD10V 269.96$ For an HPS/MH Switcher with a panel and chains to hang it all. Its a good deal because then you dont have to purchase 2 1000watt lights. Good luck with your grow :D.

I ended up buying a used 400w hps. It seems like a more stealth way to go. I also plan on making a floro veg/clone chamber. gonna use a bunch(6) of 20-23w CFL "energy saver" lights that I already have. I may get a few 40w ones too that I saw in the store to supplement my 400w.
Any advise before I go and do it?
