You must be using MS Internet Explorer. It sucks. Go here and download the latest version of Mozilla Firefox. Yes, it's a pain in the ass to switch browsers, since you have to tweak all your settings, import your bookmarks and get used to a whole new set of menus and features, but in the long run, you'll be happier. Firefox is arguably the best browser available, and it's free.
sooo? is that a no?
on this very reply page I can hold CTRL and scroll my mouse
InsideSun.com advert at top of page has font below that increseas and decreases in size.
come on i am legally blind.
No, it's more of a "we'll see, but don't hold your breath". A definitive answer can only come from Ron bennett himself, as this is his website to run as he sees fit. I do know that Firefox will do what you want without necessitating us to make modifications to the board software. That's the very best I can do for you until Ron answers. I will bring this thread to his attention.
THX
its a modifcation that will take no more than 1 minute then its done forever. :)
toke on!
Software modifications require significantly more work than that to accomplish effectively. No only must the coding be done and uploaded, but it must be thoroughly tested to ensure correct functionality without unintended consequences, and it must be well documented so that the modification can be ported to an upgrade to future vB versions, as well as allowing Gelsoft to properly provide support for this particular installation. I'm a veteran of many such modifications, and I can tell you from experience that doing it right is the best defence against future catastrophe: it is perfectly possible to wipe out the entire MySQL database with a single, poorly planned SQL query, for example.
i understand in the great realm of testin and trails.
this is a simple coding lock to certain font size.
go around and look at other MAJOR sites running this same sw

anywho, ive lost intrest in looking for examples.
point being.. code on this site for banner ads is not locked font size
just know that it can be done and it would be nice for what other members including myself have vision problems.
I wasn't aware the font size was fixed...
I just tried changing this, but appears to be very tricky (changes seem to throw the whole display out of whack) due to the design of the VBulletin (VB) message board software.
The banners are inserted by a software program we wrote and is why it allows the user's browser to determine font size...
VB, like most software, makes assumptions on what the visitor is using/has; puts style over substance, since the perception by many web designers, likely rightly so, is that most visitors want fancy graphics and glitz.
If you and/or anyone can post here/PM me the CSS changes in VB that need to be made, I'll see what I can do.
In the meantime, if the text size issue is making this board mostly unusable for you, please visit the Marihemp Network message boards - it runs on custom software that respects the preferences of the user's web browser; text size, etc may be freely changed there.

I'll see what I can dig up, though it would probably be faster if you emailed me the relevant CSS files, and I can make the necessary changes and send them back for you to upload. In the meantime, I'm looking at the vbulletin.com forums to see if I can find a ready-made solution.Quote:
