how long for germination?

back again, and my babys are germinating as we speak,(durban poisen feminized) was wondering how long it takes to i put into first pots, once i have done that, would it be better to put them on a window for a week or so, gets good light, its just i have a 600w light and worried it will be to much for them at the early stages. also, for the best highest yeild, how soon should i put them on 12/12 bloom, are you better going by the height of the plant, or by the length of time your growing them, if so which one.
