Medical Marijuana

Hi, my friend and I were discussing medical marijuana and he brought up if it would affect weight loss surgery...soo does anybody know anything about that? Would using medical marijuana affect surgery? Please be a little specific and not say oh its just wrong, I am just looking for some honest answers cause I couldnt find info anywhere else....which sucks...Thanks :)

my moms friend just had that gastric bypass surgery im assuming this is what yoiu are talking about if im wrong i apoligixe hers was very sucessful and she has lost a good biy of weight and is now smoking again she refrained from using for the first several months after the surgery due to the munchie factor if you were refering to wheather it is ok to smoke before the surgery i would say no problem my last trip to the dentist required anistesia and i burned one on the way to the appointment [ dont know if i spelled that right] and there were no problems at all except i came out of it very hungry and had a mouth full of stitches

if they will be putting you to sleep YOU WANT to make sure the person running that gas and or giving you shots,KNOW YOU SMOKE and last time you have.
make them aware of it becuase that could effect your blood pressure or breathing when they drug you up,ya dont want lie to them about that shit
the docs need to know what drugs your on or been on to make sure they dont screw you up ,its for ones own good,
i aint saying walk in a proclaim ya smoke,or anything but make sure your anethiesiologist or however thats spelled know your history correctly
he has to wake you back up,and anyone can have complications its a risk u take,
so why chance not telling him,so he knows all the facts when he is making a JUDGEMENT call on your health,your body and mind
yea i know i laid it on a lil thick but all surgery is serious

Ohh man thanks guys...after everywhere I posted you guys are the only ones responding to me! I appreciate it alot...I have a question for ezjim...was it like a couple months she waited...I mean do you think August would be to soon if I had it in June? Is the munchie factor gonna be a little to serious and should wait a little longer? Thanks again! :)

that would be entirly up to you if you can handle the munchies with out gorging your self id say go for it but be carful as we all know when you smoke you want to eat and when your high you some times take chances you would normaly not take if i remember right it takes a while for the stitches or staples or what ever it is they use to heal im sure the doc told you that at least for a while you will only be able to eat small amounts of food if you can handle the food jonz when your high you should be fine but if you are on any post op meds i would check with the doc first to see if using weed will have a negitive effect when mixed with the meds although i have never heard of a drug that would be unsafe to take with weed it's best to play it safe and ask the doc thats what you pay him for i hope this works out good for you and please let us know how your doin in a month or 2 good luck and take care

I have had 3 spinal surgeries in the past 2 years ..I never told them my deep dark secret...lol . They know I smoke cigs but not cannabis. I came out of surgery just fine and I am in my 40's.
