memories on acid...

I just got off the phone with an old friend of mine who used to fry with me alot. We reminiced about a certain multi-day trip we took off of some felix the cat blotters. Just thought I would share, so here goes.

So it was 1996... summer, I think june but maybe july. We hooked up 3 sheets of some felix the cat's in SF and had big plans to make a ton of money... haha yeah, a couple fry heads trying to make moneyoff acid, right. So it had been a little over a week since our last fry so our tolerance was still somewhat high. Anyway... we popped a 10 strip each and hopped back on the greyhound bound for downtown sacramento.

The bus breaks down and pulls off at the Nut Tree off of higway 80. For those who don't know the nut tree is a fairground like place where different events are heald near Vacaville. Well luck have it, it was a square dancing festival or some shit because there was a bunch of older men and women decked out in matching outfits, women in big fluffy skirts and the men looking like gay cowboys. So shortly after this, we start to really fry balls and head on into the festival, totally ditching our ride back to Sacto.

We're trippin hard... pupils the size of dinnerplates laughing our asses off at these square dancers. Eventually we ended up in a hay ride wagon and were playing with lighters and lit cigarrettes (y'know, trails). The wagon wasn't operational and I think it was probably parked where we weren't supposed to be because there wasn't anyone around. Who knows how long we were there but next thing we know, it's dark.

Well, I don't know which one of us it was but someone lit some of the hay on fire. Neither of us noticed at first... I remember saying "it looks like it's glowing orange" referring to some of the hay at our feet and that's when my friend said "HOLY SHIT" and jumped up slapping his jacket sleeve which had caught fire. We jump up to our feet and start to pat the fire out which just started to get bigger. So then we started scooping the burning hay out of the wagon onto the dirt and let it burn out. Burned the shit out of my hands doing this too. Greg had a big ass melted hole in the arm of his jacket with cotton lining hanging out.

Figuring we caused enough damage we poped another 5 hits each and headed out. So it is pitch dark... must have been like 2 or 3 in the morn and we are strolling down higway 80 wondering what to do next. We eventually come across the Wooze which is a big human rat-maze. Of course it's all locked up so we find a spot to rest and toke a bowl. Dissapointed with the extra hits not kicking in we popped another 5 each... and another 5 about 10 minutes later. For those keeping track 25 hits so far in about 10-12 hours. So it kicks in hard... REALLY hard eventually and we find ourselves panicing.

We find a phone, which turns out to be one of those emergency phones off the higway, and I pick it up and dial my buddy's phone number. A lady answers, roadside service or something, and I'm like "Jeremy, come pick us up man. We're on higway 80 in Vacaville" I don't remember what the lady was saying. probably something like "are you okay" or "where's your car" but I just kept saying. "Come get us man... we're all fucked up" After giving up we walk down the freeway some more and a cop pulls up next to us.

I don't know if he knew we were fucked up and I don't remember exactly what we told him but he ends up giving us a ride, uncuffed. Man we were totally fucked up and both of us had over a sheet in our pockets. In the back of the cop car greg starts to panic and eats the rest of his acid. some 100+ hits... eats that shit. I was just looking out the window trying to keep my mouth shut as to not sound like an iddiot, still tripping hard core balls. The cop kept talking to us but I didn't really understand him so I just kept sayin "yeah man, we were ditched and we've had a really rough night" So by the time we get dropped off at the bus station downtown, greg starts to really fry. I mean this fool is gone. I remember him running through cezar chaves park downtown sacramento screaming "I'm fuckin 2 feet tall" at like 5:30 or 6 in the AM.

The sunrise was beautifull. Blues purples greens orange, probably only to us though, but I muched down a ten strip to celebrate surviving the night and a few minutes later a few more. Greg is sitting next to me on a park bench pretty much drooling. The whole day we spent wondering around downtown and old town sacramento trippin hard core, greg more than me. I don't remember too much but I do remember being in this tunnle with people painted on the walls. Greg and I were backed up against the wall in funny poses "blending in" with the painted people. haha we thought no one could see us but I'm sure everyone was looking at us like WTF??

So we fryed all day that day and most of the night. Crashed out in a large cement tube in a construction sight the next morning (day 3) and woke up in the middle of the day with a construction worker nudging us and saying "Get the hell out of here" I was still pretty brain-numb and greg was worse off than me. I don't know exactly how much we ate. I know greg ate 1.5 sheets in the course of 1 and a half days and I had about 20 hits left when all was said and done. I don't know if some got lost or if I actually ate 130 hits in the course of 3 days. We showed up at gregs aunts house all dirty, stinky and still a little messed up and she's like "Where the hell have you guys been" Greg has about a foot long burn hole in the sleve of his jacket, I had blisters and burns on my hands and finger tips and we were both wet from the puddle in the cement tube. With no explanation greg says, "We've had a rough night" and we both go into his room and crash out again.

Well that turned out longer than I thought but oh well... just another trip story from back in the day.

damn that sounded like fun.How long did it take for greg to come down off a sheet and a half?

yeah thats a good story dude i remember on time when i took acid i was sittin in the pasanger seat of my friends car who wasnt trippin an i had 2 friends in the back an 1 was trippin at a red light me and my friend started buggin out because we were stuck next 2 this crazy lookin chinese guy an he got mad an yelled "ah go fry your ass"an he had a southern accent

Both greg and I were pretty messed up a for a several days after the ordeal. Not really frying... but really messed up in the head, kinda like the after fry feeling but more permenent. With all the acid I took back then, I still see trails to this day. I'm so used to it, I don't even really notice them unless I think about it. The other night my wife and I were watching my daughter swirl spaklers. I said to my wife "kinda looks like a spring" and she was like what do you mean. I explained that the trail behind the sparkler was in the shape of a spring and asked if she saw what I ment. Not so much... it's still just me. haha

I sometimes miss the good ol' days when I had nothin better to do but dose, smoke, and hang out. Now I have a kid, wife, and I'm too old to be doing that kind of stuff IMO. I know 28 ain't that old... but I started young. Do it while your still young and cool guys. haha.

Man, this makes me wanna take lots of drugs while I'm young and cool.
