Does anybody know what kind of recorder (wind instrument) is used in playing medieval or renaissance music? I'm looking into getting one, and I need to find out which one is used for this kind of music.
Thanks

I just typed in "medieval recorder" in google and got more information than I could sit and look through. Great music though! Good luck! :)
I think celtic music they use something called a pan pipe. Its beautiful music hey before my computer crashed i had alot of celtic music on here i also have a few cds around the house.I play that music when i read my runes and usually in bed it relaxes me a bit puts the mind at rest a little.
i think its just a wooden pipe, but i may be wrong, my band has a song called renaissance man, but unless you like guitar and rock music, it aint what yer lookin for
Celtic music most often features the tin flute. Ren music is either pipes or a recorder. They play a bit similarly but have a very different sound.
Most professional authentic Renaissance performers simply call it the Renaissance flute. But it's a transverse flute like the ones we have now.
But oh shit you we're talking about recorders. God I'm stoned. Sorry. hahahaha.
