600w's of cfl is what i'm using for now... 4 @ 150w..
for two plants.. it does nicely.. with cfl's though you need to keep the grow space very small, cfl's need to be really close to the plants.

Dont be fooled by the wattage listed on these popular, low cost cheap CFL's.
If they say like for xampl 20W=100W, then you ONLY HAVE 20W of florescents...NOT 100W.
I see a lot of peeps using these cheapo CFL and while they CAN work, they provide slow growth, slow flower and low yeilds.
If you want the "BEST" in true CFL, you wont find them at the hardware stores.
www.fullspectrumsolutions.com is one place to go.

Lol everyone answered everything for me. Ok, HARDDON is very right in his explanation. Right now I have the following lights on them.
2x42W (labeled 150W) 2700K 2600Lumens CFL
1x65W (labeled 300W) 6500K 4200Lumens CFL
Ever since I added the 6500k bulb the plants have had a noticeable growth. Plus all the little side growths are leaning and stretching towards that one bulb. It's only good to use floros for vegging tho, I just don't have enough money to get an HPS unit (Thank HARDDON for any outcome I get because of him sending me one.) Goodluck.
Also I got my bulb from this link:

It was like $38 shipped but they send it real fast and the guy who runs it responds pretty quickly.
