Onset times

Is it normal to not feel shit for about 20 minutes after smoking? it seems like it always hits my friends way faster than me and ive read stories where people were stoned as soon as they toked... does onset just vary from person to person?

Yeah I know people who it takes while to hit. I feel each hit immediatly, but I've seen people who have to wait awhile.

yeah i feel "different" within the first few hits, ive found the bigger hit you take the faster on it will come rather than smokign the same amount with smaller hits which makes the high usually creep up on me if you know what i mean

I usually don't feel anything until my 5th or 6th hit, and I've smoked some DANK weed before. I don't think its the fact that it takes me 5 or 6 hits to start getting high, its just thats around the time when the first hits are taking control. Also I don't usually think about how high I'm getting until after I've finished smoking, because it just messes things up. Either I decide I'm high enough too soon, or I get mad because I didn't get high enough, so I just finished whatever I packed/rolled and afterwords just go with the flow. All that to say... when I start to feel it hitting me is when I can't keep that feeling in the back of my mind. So I'm obviously lightly buzzed before that, I just am too concentrated on smoking or whatever else may be going on to take notice.

I think it depends on your tolerance too. The first time I smoked I got totally wasted from less than half a joint. I didn't even feel stoned until the joint was finished though, it sort of crept up on me. When I smoke now I feel it after about 6 or 7 puffs or hits or whatever you call it. You know that feeling you get around your eyes when they start to get heavy and stuff. I breathe it in really deep and hold it for a sec. By the time I've finished the whole joint I'm fucked, can barely move from the chair.

I can get "lifted" off the first hit, unless it's pretty bad. It's gotta have something to do with your heart or your metabolism or something, I have no idea though.
