America incarcerates five times as many people per capita as Canada and 7 times as many as most European democracies.

America spends approximately 100 billion dollars a year on the criminal justice system, up from 12 billion in 1972.

With 2.2 million people engaged in catching criminals and putting and keeping them behind bars, "corrections" has become one of the largest sectors of the U.S. economy, employing more people than the combined workforces of General Motors, Ford and Wal-Mart, the three biggest corporate employers in the country. We quadrupled the prison population since 1980, but much of the increase in admissions involved non-violent offenses, especially drugs.
The system is so big because America punishes lesser offenses so frequently and so severely. Other nations reserve prison for serious or violent offenders. America sends millions of people to jail every year for minor crimes like trespassing, disorderly conduct, non-DWI traffic offenses, and simple possession of small amounts of illegal drugs for personal use.
88% of offenses nationwide are non-violent. Only 3% of all crime results in an injury. Homicide arrests constitute just 0.2% of all arrests in America.

Jail is big business.....

The stats kick ass, and its funny how thats not the picture painted for you on the evening news.

On the news its this guy got his head chopped off, this guy got hit by a bus jacker, police chased Micheal Jackson to his mountain based pedophil bunker.

All you see is the negative shit that then scares people into thinking that they are being forced to crack down even harder for every offense, the smaller it is, the better it is to come down as hard as possible. After all, you need to make an example out of someone, so lets make them all an example. Driven by the religiuos riech in my eyes, seeing as the morals that are now the standard of which Americans are being held to are that of the minority, and Christian fundamentalists.

Prison is a big bussiness and like any other big bussiness will make conditions for itself for its own survival. Case in point the tobacco companies. Lied to the worlds consumers for years, and used every tactic they could, legal or illegal.

Prisons have a brighter future right now tho. With the religios riech, pharmasuticals, Bush admin., and ratical supreme judges. They are even more powerful and capable than ever before in respect to make new laws or uphold unjust ones.

What they dont want is a sick polulace, well they want you dependent but not sick, or atleast not feeling sick. So they want Cigarettes gone, but it will take a bit of time to phase it out. Allot of jobs are dependant on the flow of cancer pateints.

So in the end it will make perfect economic sense to outlaw smokeing and make it a felony offense. And even then to make even the smallest law breakage to be punishable with prison. The simple message... conform or be locked away, in which time you will be taught to conform, by the use of a daily regeruos schedule, i.e. road gangs, rock breaking, or perhaps some oil feild duty in a foreighn country, or a salt mine, or a gold mine. After all you cant expect the Fed to carry the cost of houseing all those GOD DAMNED felons. So make them fucking work for the right to be held captive.

If people are not afraid for their freedom yet. This should be the ice breaker if you ask me. Makeing Privatized Prisons was and still is a shitty fucking deal.

It the same as throwing the fox in the hen house. They have already found so many ways to turn a profit like makeing inmates telephone solicetors. They say its good for them and it gives them something to do. But the best part is it puts money in the pockets of the people in charge. Its to the point that they know it can be such a money maker it would be insane not to find new ways to make even more money with it.

Maybe thats the idea behind letting the borders get flooded. After a while when there are so many that things start happening you can then say well shit, we have to lock some of these guys up, they cause too much trouble. Put them in prison and away we go. Free labor Free labor Free labor.
