Yes, it logs your IP address; all websites do. And, no, nobody can use your IP address to find you in realspace without the cooperation of law enforcement. But don't worry. Cops don't care if you post here.
Overgrow says they do not log IP. I think it would be good if this site does as well, it should be cannabis.com best intrest not to for the security of the members
Nah. IP address is nothing. Mine is 4.152.75.159. Do your worst. :D
yeh they log your ip, and have a special program that traces ip to address, they then mail the police a list of people who have accessed the site more then 5 times with full details, address, number etc
And if you believe that, you've been watching way too much CSI. lol
its true and even more apparent on overgrow, high-level law enforcement request the sites to do this, and they have no choice, this is where ALOT of busts happen, and people think someones just grassed em inQuote:

No, it's not true. Stop spreading alarmist bullshit. I've worked in the IT industry. IP tracing does not work that way. Only law enforcement can get your ISP to reveal your identity to them, and only with a court order. It takes days or even weeks, not seconds. Unless Overgrow owns their own server(s) and has chosen to disable IP logging, they theoretically do have access to your IP information.Quote:

Disabling cookies will not hide your IP addres from webservers. You can only do that indirectly, via a proxy server. You can also theoretically falsify outgoing data packets with a bogus IP address, but since you cannot receive any return packets, it's very difficult to accomplish anything useful.
lol just a visual trace route :p I traced my own too "nottin". The thread had me wondering but all i got was your ISP provider :) :D I'm an admin on another board so just curious.
I would'nt worry people. :p
