Iv got my 9 day old babies in 3 litre pots under a 600w hps, the room has gone down to 40% humidity :( For the humidity i tried a couple of buckets of water in the room it only put me to 42% i tried instracting air from outside is i cant go putting holes in the walls io get indoor air cos i only rent the place and it put it to 38% so i tried extracting air and it put it down more to 37% iv got ti back to 42% but cant find a way to get it up more.
I watered loads on day 7 till water came out of bottom of pots. They looked perfect with the leaves in a perfect v at the top the a couple of the stems are a bit long but i think theyll be ok there 5 or 6 cm long but stems are strong. Now on day 9 i have stuck my fingers deep in the soil and it seems to be damp but when iv checked my bag of unused soil that feels the same so maybe it isint damp and just the texture of the soil. I was wondering if there was a way i could tell by the leaves if they need water they went from perfect v to a -- there horizontal but all else seems fine any help will be much appreciated thank you.

Howdy magic bud,
You are right,to water until the water comes out the bottom, and to tell when they need more, you should try lifting the pot in one hand,if it's light and easy to lift, and if the leaves are droopy with the lights on,they are ready to water.
You could also invest in a moisture meter, they don't cost much, just insert it until it's a couple of inches from the bottom of the pot,you want the medium to dry out enough for the roots to git oxygen. As for humidity,it's true that a higher humidity is preferred during the veg cycle, and less for the flower cycle, however,I think you will be okay with the humidity you have now.
Have a good one !

Thanks Torog ill look in to the moisture meter, the leaves seem to have perked up a bit while iv been out so im gona leave the watering a bit longer and keep a close eye on the babys as iv heard overwatering is one of the most common mistakes of the firt time grower. Iv checked the weights of the pots and some are heavier than the others but i dont want to water just a few really or im gona get my self in a rite pickle. They have there 6 hours of dark in 35 mins and im assuming they dont use as much water in the dark period is this correct? so ill most likley water them when i put the lights back on Thanks again m8 :D . While iv been out there have been 3 more leaves developed on most plants too so im buzzin :D

look just cause the leaves are droopin doesnt mean they need water. try waterin them a lot and if they get more droopy then you know your drownin em. then leave be a while theyll perkup.
also your always gonna go thru rugh times no matter what you do. so just hang in there man

Checked it this morn everything looks great lots of new leaves on the way and 2 days 4 hours seems like a good amount of time to leave in between waterings for the moment. Ill try to get hold of a camera to send some pics in.
