My grow box set up. (pics)

Here is my set up so far. I have not gone to get lights yet as I am awaiting signs of life from my seeds.

The first picture is the front. The box is 25 in tall 15x18' square. The "window" is 8in square.

The 2nd picture is from the top inside.

The lid is normally closed but opened for this picture.


Looking down in you can see my empty pot :( awaiting her seeds.

It set on top of an upside down box. The box is lined with one of those camping emergency blanket things. It is thermal and reflective, but if you hold it up to a light you can see through it.

I also have two dowel rods run through the box to support my light (when I get it). I can adjust the height of the light by simply punching holes in the box and moving the dowel rods up or down.

Picture 3 shows holes that were already in the box, so I am installing small computer fans (the ones that go on the processor) to help move the air.

I will also thinking of building a light box with fas to help move the heat away from the light.

The box will set upstairs with the opening facing the window so I can use some natural light as well.

I am also thinking of lineing the top flaps of the box and tilting them so that the sun light will relfect down into the box.

What do you all think?

alrite mate that box looks easy to set up,is that just a hole on the side or are u goin to cover it up when u start growing?? what kind of lights are u goin to put in there and is that just a regular cardboard box???

what kind of top are u using for the box????

and why didnt u just cover the inside with mylar??????

The box has its own top to close. (the flaps)

I have this set up for my light. it is a florescent grow light that my father had laying around in the garage from when he had an indoor garden. (not for weed)

I have it safely mounted in the box with everything insulated.

2 fans mounted on the sides to help reduce the heat. The fans line up with the hols in the side of the box. and when I have to rais the light I will simply cover the old holes and make new.

I will also go pick up 4 small bulb style grow lights since thatâ??s all I can afford.

This is my first grow so we'll see how it turns out.


Yes it is just a reg cardboard box.

lol how many do you plan on growing in there. from what i see one of my plants would outgrow that box in a month,n dont forget they grow alot more in the 10 weeks or so it takes to flower

Watch that axial fan. They get hot and will go bad after 12-18 months and make the loudest noises. Plus the FIRE factor might make you reconsider your BOX. I keep several spares on hand and never use a USED fan. Time is ticking. Be safe. Keeps it away from flammables. GOOD LUCK
