Need some advice ! Would really appreciate it
Hi all,
I am new to the boards but joined to get some advice on drug testing for a job.
I am 23 and have smoked nearly everyday since I was 16. I was offered a job and am really excited about it, but here's the scoop on the drug test:
I have been 'clean' for about a month and a half (maybe even longer). For the past year or so, my intake has been less than it used to be. I typically roll one or two 'spliffs' a night using regular zig zags, and roughly half of it is tobacco. This is a great decrease from how much I used to smoke. I have probably been smoking an 8th in 7-12 days for the past year.
When I was 20 or 21 I was in outpatient rehab for about 3 months. I was smoking very very heavily before this, and I never pissed clean in those 3 months, though the urinalysis showed my levels were declining.
I have to take a drug test within 24 hours of my start date (Dec 12th, very soon!).
I have lost about 40 lbs since getting sober a month and a half ago. I have been taking chromium and niacin supplements, and have just today started taking vitamin B2 supplements as well.
I have been using a home drug test for the past 2 weeks or so. The thing is, when I take it in later in the day with dilute urine (nearly clear, but still yellowish), a faint line comes up (probably 20-50% intensity as that of the control) indicating I am negative.
BUT, when I take it in the morning, with concentrated, very yellow urine, the line does not come up.
I am very concerned about passing this test. I will not be allowed to be hired there, or any part of the research facility for a full year if I fail.
My question is, do you think I will likely pass given this information? I am definitely planning on taking the test later in the day and drinking a ton of water beforehand. But I am very concerned about the possibility of them doing follow up tests if I piss clean--as in, tests to see if my urine is too dilute, or something like that. I have heard that vitamin B2 helps make the urine appear less dilute than it is, but I do not know much about it specifically.
What do you think? If a faint line has been coming up when I pee later in the day after drinking water, should I be good? Any advice for what I should do the week or so before the test? I am planning on stopping the niacin and chromium supplements a week before the test, but I do not know much about this.
Very much want to pass, and would GREATLY appreciate some advice!
Thank you in advance,
B

also just FYI, the home test I have been using is 50 mg/ml

The reason for this is because the dilution phenomena is only temporary - once the fluids you consume had all been urinated out, the bladder is replenished with fresh THCA-laden urine by the kidneys, and thus the donor resumes testing postive for THC.

Do an Advanced Search with the terms "sample color least aspect".

Ok thanks for the response, but it didn't really answer my question.
I understand dilution in regards to urine, but what I am asking is whether I should be concerned about over diluting my urine? What are the standard lab practices in terms of testing for how diluted the urine is? Can they fail me if my urine is too diluted?
I plan on drinking lots of water before the test, as I mentioned, but I am asking about what are the lab protocols in terms of testing beyond the simple neg/pos test?
Thanks

After doing the search you suggested, is there supplements to take to raise creatine levels? Do you have suggestions to pass the specific gravity test in order to make sure I do not fail due to over-dilution?

To raise creatinine levels; eat red meat 4/5 days prior to the test and/or buy creatine monohydrate from a drug store.
To fool SG; drink calcium and magnesium-rich water.
To fool the color; 50mg of riboflavin on the morning of the test (before the voids) will do the trick. Don't take more.
I doubt you did any research though; both your questions can be answered in under 20 seconds looking at the posts on the forum's main page.
