first time grower - yellowing leaves, cut off or not?

the top couple leaves are getting super yellow, i raised the light a couple inches. but should i cut this off before it spreads or is there something i should be doing that can revitalize it? the picture doesn't quite show how yellow those spots are, they look almost like dead spots..

Any help would be great!!!

btw i am running a 600W HPS light but ballast set only to 300W as i only have had 1 successful germination. and my plant looks significantly "bushier" than most peoples spread out stringy plants, is that good or bad?

leave the leaves on for now. Twas ever thus.
