Quick question - light dilution
I had my pre employment UA today at around 9:00am. I drank about 32oz of water at 6:00am and voided about 4 times before my UA. By the time I went to void for the UA, my urine was a normal looking yellow color. I'm being a worrywart, but that amount of water should not dilute my test results, correct? I know I'm clean, but I wanted to drink some water a couple hours before the test to ensure that by the time I took the test, I was able to void and didn't have to wait around. More worried about getting a diluted negative than a positive test. Thanks in advance for the replies.

Theres no telling. That would depend on what your baseline S/G and creatinine levels were before you consumed the 32 oz of water.
Creatinine and S/G are checked at the labs to determine samples that are too diluted. This measure had become SOP in recent years. Therefore sample "color" became the least aspect in determining dilution. Even samples with a nice yellow color to them can still be ruled "too dilute" due to low S/G and creatinine levels.

Thanks for the reply, Toast. I'm not sure if you can answer this, but is Labcorp generally pretty quick with responding to the employee about over-dilution? I submitted my UA on Thursday morning, would you think they would have contacted me regarding a diluted sample within 24 hours, or are there too many variables to correctly answer that.
