General inquiries regarding testing
Hey all,
I'm rather new here, though I've smoked off and on since college. I'm 28 now and a couple weeks ago I got my medicinal card. My timing is absolutely impeccable. I feel a bit of backstory may be necessary here.
I've been working as a temp for then past 7 months. There was always the possibility looming that this position could go permanent, provided the work output was adequate and awesome. It was a sort of "try before you buy" experience. Anyway, because of a few HR hang ups and delays, I had assumed I would have a much longer window to work with during the on boarding process. So basically, it goes like this:
1) I'm clean while working for the majority of the past 7 months.
2) I get my card on 9.20.13 (I had a climbing accident a few years ago and was prescribed edibles)
3) I sort of go on a binge with my newfound freedom, buy two quarters, a couple joints, etc.
4) I smoke about an 8th over the course of the week.
Now here's the awesome part.
5) a mere 7 days after I get my license, the job offer finally comes through and I'm going to be required to take a piss test.
6) I stop consuming immediately.
At this point I'm assuming that my test will be next Tuesday or Wednesday 10/8 or 10/9. I'm relatively active, usually about 3-4 days in the gym with some outdoor recreation mixed in on the weekends. Like I said, I do rock climb. And if I had to guess, I'd say I'm anywhere between 9-11% body fat with a pretty quick metabolism. I hover between 139-145 pounds.
I administered a practice test at home a few days ago and I did see one distinct line and one very, very, very faint second line on the test. According to the box, any line in the "t" section of the results should be considered negative. Though i would like to know your opinions on that. So that's my first inquiry I guess.
Moving along, I've decided that the dilution method is my best route considering the situation, and I'd rather not get my girlfriend involved (piss swapping)with this because of my own life decisions.
Given my usage (handful of times over the past year or so plus the recent binge), what is the likelihood that I can pass this naturally by next week?
If it's not a viable option and I have to pursue the dilution method, will my current intake of creatine (5 grams daily) be enough for the sample, or should I increase it over the weekend? Is there anything I should stay away from in the next coming days?
I've read a lot of information on the topic, but a lot of it can be contradictory or just flat out wrong, as I'm sure you're all aware of. Is there any other way of increasing my fat burning process I'm neglecting? Please feel free to offer up any personal experiences you feel might be beneficial here. Thanks in advance!

UPDATE:
As far as methods are concerned, I have been increasing daily activity even more than usual and eating relatively clean and fiber rich. As I stated before, I'm roughly 140 pounds with about 10% body fat content. I'm usually active anyway and my metabolism is pretty high. I've tested myself 7 times since I stopped smoking on 9/27.
That past two mornings, using my first void of the day, I saw a light but also very obvious second line in the "t" area of those tests, so I'm assuming I'm good to go. I'm not really going to over dilute because I'm fairly confident I'll pass as is. I'm thinking I'll drink a normal amount of fluids (I usually drink about a gallon of water daily anyway) tomorrow and down a monster before heading into the test. Those are loaded with b's and typically give my piss a nice, healthy yellow tint.
I'm not sure when I'll hear back, but I'll be sure to post results regardless of outcome. I appreciate any input on the matter, but due to the nature of this thread, I'll assume no one really cares anyway.

UPDATE 10/10/13
Greetings once again. I went in and took my test late yesterday after a fucking ordeal trying to get shit together for the test site.
Having taken 9+ at home tests, and clearly passing 8 of them, I'm confident that I should be good to go. For good measure, I went out last night and wasted another 20 bucks on a take home test just to settle my nerves. This test wasn't my first void of the day obviously, but probably number 7 or 8. It was clean as fuck. If my test two hours prior was as clean as this one, I'm definitely in the clear.
I realize you're supposed to use your first void of the day when testing, which I had done previously 3-4 times, but I just wanted a gauge on what my piss would have looked like in their hands. My only concern now is time frame. Since I missed the courier yesterday, my sample won't be shipped until today, which means they probably won't be testing it for quite some time. I'm wondering if this has any affect on my sample (null/void?). Since my actual start date is supposed to be Monday I'm kind of stressed as to whether or not I'll hear back before then. The woman who administered the test said the lab's turnaround time was anywhere from 24-48 hours. I'll update once I get more info.
I was really hoping to know before the weekend, because, to be blatantly honest, I really just want to fucking smoke again.

This is not an accurate "gauge" to go by because THCA levels fluctuate daily and timely due to fluid consumptions that occur during the day as a normal part of staying hydrated. The fluid consumption would skew the results because the THCA concentration can get diluted to the point where a urine sample would register a negative. The dilution phenomena is only temporary - once youve urinated out the fluids that were consumed, the bladder is replenished with fresh THCA-laden urine and thus the donor would resume testing positive for THC.
Thats why it is stressed that anytime you test yourself, you always use the first urination of the day when THCA levels are at their highest. By using the first urination, you are testing yourself under the worst-case scenario. And if you are routinely testing negative under that "worst-case scenario", then its a safe bet that there will be no detectable amount of THCA left in the body to fluctuate.

Thanks for the reply. This is all true, and as such, I would assume my official test would be more diluted than anything since I had to drink a few glasses of water when I got there. If I cleared out my fluids with the urine at the test site, then wouldn't it make sense that the test I took a few hours later would have been dirtier, so to speak, since I had not pissed in two hours?

So it might be premature, but I'm assuming I passed. My situation is slightly different from your typical preemployment screen though. Since I was already technically working for the company, it was a matter of formality in completing these task, as I was a temp-to-hire sort of thing.
The reason My situation is different is because most people know they have failed because they were either contacted by an MRO or simply heard from their employer regarding the situation.
I called the lab to see if they had reported my results to the background agency today and they said the results had been reported on Saturday. I'm literally sitting in my car right now, outside my office,after attending an orientation seminar. This, however, is irrelevant to my particular case, as I was told on Friday to come in today. This is without my employer having received the results.
Hell, they're still waiting for my college to verify my diploma. So I'm still not officially in the clear, though I'm pretty sure that having the test results reported and no contact from my recruiter in regards to this is a good thing.
Any thoughts on this? Please post whatever information you have, as anything and everything is appreciated.
