is this what i think it is ??? 1st grow

i bought a plant from a friend about 3 1/2 weeks ago ( outdoor all its life ) and im guessing it just started flowering ! cuz these little balls came out from the nodes , but what makes me unsure is that there are also little pink pistil looking things at the same time ? some spots even have pink stick things and balls on the same node . is this a male ??
