prune outdoor grow?
I was wondering if it is necessary to lollipop or prune healthy outdoor plants that are going into flower since they have plenty of sunlight from dawn to dusk... isn't pruning mainly to let more light in? or is it to divert the energy into the top colas?

Hey Nugss,
It's my belief that you should never prune a flowering plant. When you cut off a branch or top the plant diverts much energy to fixing the problem. This takes energy away from flowering and that's not good.
Pruning is done during the veg stage with the purpose of encouraging more branching. Some prune to keep the plant lower to the ground for visibility reasons.
If you want to let more light into certain areas try pulling branches to a better position with twine. If fan leaves are covering bud sites it is better to tie them off underneath than cut them off.
Hope that helps you some.

Hey thank you for replying... I was talking more about the little bitty flowering nodes on the lower branches... not cutting off whole branches. As for fan leaves, I let them yellow and fall off by themselves, altho I guess I was thinking of removing some of the larger inner ones, so thanks for clearing that up.
