First medical grow-reveging-potentially time sensitive

I started my first grow in the spring outside, due to my lack of knowledge, they grew very slowly, after a transplant into some bigger pots with compost+peat+perlite mix with heavy 16 nutrients, my plants finally started exploding in leaf development. Unfortunately, they started budding, they're all 4-10in high. Stupidity took over.. I put them in a grow box I built with 24 hour lighting (have a light timer coming in the mail to do 18/6) hoping to revert to veg. However, I've never done such a thing. The buds have doubled in size under the 24 hour lighting, it's making me sad. I have options but I'd like some input on what's best, or if there are others I'd gladly like to know. I was thinking of cutting the stalk right below where the colas have started to develop, with this I'm wondering if sealing the stalk with root gel would help heal it, I've also heard of 'pinching' the stalk rather than cutting, would these cuts be good to make ISO concentrate, along with the undeveloped buds? Or am I better off letting the colas wither away? They do that when when they reveg right? Second idea was to bring back outside or turn on 12/12 lighting manually until my timer comes, but I fear I've already caused to much stress.
I've read quite a few threads on the topic, but haven't found an answer that's specific to my situation, my apologies if I missed a thread that already answers this.

If you let them reveg under 18/6 after they start producing new growth you can take sharp pointed scissors and remove all budding material then grow to the size you want then flower them. Don't cut them they are stressed enough.

Awesome! Didn't think I'd get an answer so quick, super appreciate it! I'll be sure to make updates of this scenario! Should I leave some of the lower buds? If you scroll to #10 on this thread (How do I regenerate/ rejuvenate/ reveg a plant after harvest?) this person mentioned this for during harvest to reveg, however my plants clearly are not ready for harvest, plus I have no idea if this guy knows what he's talking about since I've heard of plants being hacked to the bottom and growing sprouts (yeah, right?).

If all the vegetation is cut off there's not much chance of it reveging. When you cut the buds off leave the innermost parts and all of the green leaves you can, you'll see as they bud what to leave.

Some plants actually die back each year and regrow from the roots. But those are perenial plants, not ones that grow in one season from seed and die. If you cut back an "annual" like that, there is not enough energy in the roots to grow back much if at all. Perenials store a LOT of energy in their roots for the next season's growth, which is why they grow back after cutting or after cold seasons.

It looks like MJ is a semi-perenial type plant that is very delicate with temperatures - too cold and it can easily go to die-off. I read the link you provided, and I'm thinking that this may be a good option for many people if you are willing to be cautious. You'd also have to repot the plant fairly frequently or hydro it, or do a MAJOR reintro of many neuts to make sure it stays healthy. Just like people, after being ill for awhile you need rest and plenty of good food to build your strength back. :)

Something for me to think about. Heck, if it's in veg state and you don't need a harvest for awhile, I'd bet you can take a bunch of clones from one plant and have them all go for a nice harvest a couple months later. :) OR, if I have a good amount of girls in my home ready for harvest, I may be able to keep the whole bunch (or at least most of them) to be able to keep harvesting! :) THANK YOU for the share on that link.

Botany is really interesting to me, always has. I love biology of any sort. But as it is noted in there, you need to keep leaves and a bit of the bud on the plant when you harvest so as to keep the stalks alive.

I wonder if adding a transplant-shock fertilizer would assist with regrowth? If you keep a few leaves near the base of the plant as base greenery, the harvest takes away a ton from the plant but a shock-feed would maybe help in that case? I know I plan on using a weak dose whenever we re-pot our plants the next time for any not in the fiber pots (I LOVE fiber pots! So easy to plant in the garden or bigger/permanent pots!).

Bringing a plant back to veg once flower has started just takes time, twice. First I have seen it take over a month for the plant to show new vegetative growth. First you will notice single blade leaves. Once these start to show the bud and old leaves can begin to be trimmed. Don't trim it all off it one time. Give your plant a couple days to recover in between trimmings.

Second time issue I have noticed has to do with the time in between re veg and second flower. Years ago I started planting my outdoor crop in late April. After about a two week span where it was touch and go with frost warnings the plants took off like mad. By mid May I had flowers in full bloom. Problem here is that in mid to late May ( in my area ) the nights are too short for flower to continue. My plants needed to revert to veg.

Meanwhile It's still mid-late May and my next round of clones is being planted.

Of about 10 plants that I planted too early two never actually reverted to veg. They were harvested in August. The rest were only pushing out 3 blade leaves when flowering began again. The second flower stretch was nearly absent. All the bud from all 10 or so plants was practically see through. The harvest from those plants yielded about an ounce and a half of fluff. One of these plants even hermied i believe since it had some immature seed. All these plants were harvested before the end of Sept. past their prime as I was hoping they would fatten up some but that never happened.

Meanwhile the rest of the plants, planted about 5 weeks later did just fine. Averaging about 4 oz. per plant of nice, about as dense as a Sativa can get , bud.

The point I'm trying to make here is to make sure your plants get back into a full veg mode before flowering again. I only have this one year to base my conclusions on. If anyone can confirm this please do so. If I happen to be way off base on this one please let me know.
