Just wondering
I just joined last night this is actually my third new thread. I was curious where I might ask some people who might be in the same line of work as me some questions? I dont know what forum to go to to ask such questions. Any and all help is appreciated.
I am leaning heavily on becoming a truck driver. I know alot of people will be like well if you wanna be a truck driver then dont smoke! Well I am bipolar and manic depressive and since I was 19, I have always said that the only time I feel "normal" is when I smoke (notice that I didnt say get high). I am able to function better as a human... well a lot better than the mandated F.D.A. take these pills. I like to drink, not get stupid fall down drunk. and with these pills its not a good idea (I do it anyway). My question is if anyone knows of or if the randoms are u/a or hair? I know of a couple places that are just u/a regardless. but I am digging deeper.... I also recall reading a thread on here that some truckers always carry quick fix. I believe and I quote " I never clock in with out it". I know my best chances are quit it and forget it, but I know me more than any gov't bureau knows me!

Just wondering
Is this a DOT-regulated test?

Just wondering
it will be, I have time... but I dont know what the randoms are? I am able pee clean with no help. I can stay clean, but as I mentioned I am bipolar and manic depressive. I figure that most companies are different from one another. I guess I am trying to figure out if I lapse what will be the consequences? A hair test random or a u/a?

DOT-regulated tests are urine tests only (Pre-emp, random, return-to-duty, reasonable suspicion, post-accident). With DOT regulated tests, there are regulations that have must followed by ALL collection facilities, labs, and employers participating in DOT regulated testing. So if they take any hair samples, oral swab samples etc; its NOT a DOT-regulated test.
